Interesting story and all, but unless I’m missing something obvious, I don’t get why you’d walk away with a grin? If true, they just royally wasted your time and made you look/feel like a **** in the process.

I’d be ****ing fuming and would go to town on them.

Anyone can make a mistake but a different NI and address to you? Plus, the point that she was furious about wanting to dock someone’s money, for whatever reason, would energise me to take it as far as possible in complaint.

Jobcentre staff are one of those professions which has a few good apples in a rotten bunch. A work coach with empathy is the exception, not the rule. They’re also massively incompetent and useless which is ironic since they seek to punish ‘scroungers’.

Nah, embarrassing her was enough for me and it was her who looked the ****, not me.

Have you ever been unemployed and had to deal with the ****wits in the benefit office?

May have changed for the better since I was last in there, 1980's

It hasn’t. I once got threatened with a sanction for not attending an appointment I already said I couldn’t attend in advance because it was my first day at my new job <laugh><doh>

A mate of mine actually did get sanctioned for going to an interview the same time and day as his UC appointment. He also let them know he couldn’t attend a week in advance. They’re ****ing puddled at that place.

To be fair to the work coaches, they do have middle management breathing down their neck constantly to meet sanction targets, according to whistle-blowers. Some of them are just absolute vile ****s though and revel in punishing those worse off than them.

A few go into the job with the intention to genuinely help people out of work. My last work coach was a young lad, new to the job, and was sound and actually helped me get a job. A large proportion, however, probably the majority, think anyone on UC or benefits are scroungers and treat them like **** on their shoe.

In the early 80's the only growth was in the length of the dole queue, a mate from the north west who worked in the benefits office managed to get the sack/laid off. The grapevine told him it was because he was helping claimants by telling them what they were entitled to claim and how to do it.

Shota wants them playing men's football as the standard in the U23s has been deemed “not good enough”. There aren’t many games left, if gets them experience and they can get out and play games.

Shota is definitely right. Playing non league is extremely tough, the football is very often limited but the physicality is crazy. Basically the polar opposite to u23s where technically its good but with no physicality

It hasn't at all! I was in one a few years ago, this numpty took a form off me which he'd asked me to fill in. He wandered off for 10/15 mins then came back and asked me for the form I was supposed to fill in.
When I told him he'd already had it, he refused to accept it, then I told him where he'd gone with the green form I'd just filled in, he got stroppy and a bit abusive (from behind the security guard) and then told me "Just sit there! You'll have to wait until there's a timeslot available!" and then finally he ****ed off to his desk.
That's when I saw him pick a green form up from the floor, look sheepishly in my direction and pop it in the bin.
He was a proper tosspot.
They don't take criticism well.
