    Agree
Shortish period but he seems like a confidence player that needs to feel the love.

I always liked Meyler but don’t care for the bit where he said he would train but refuse to play. That’s just as bad.

I asked him if KLP had actually said that to him but he never offered a reply.
Anyway, it's done and KLP is here so all's good.

Don’t think O’Neill would get away with this nowadays

LEICESTER boss Martin O'Neill was in trouble last night following his bad-taste attack on injury-prone striker Ian Marshall.

O'Neill said: "I have known people get over AIDS more quickly than Marshall has recovered from hamstring trouble!"

But later, O'Neill admitted: "My remark was tongue in cheek and I wish I had never made it. I meant nothing by it, and I sincerely hope nobody will take offence."

A spokesman for the Terence Higgins Trust commented: "It's good to hear that Mr O'Neill recognises that HIV is a serious medical condition.

"But the fact remains that there is no cure or vaccine for the disease, and no person has ever got rid of the virus from their body."

Marshall, 33, celebrated only his fourth start of the campaign by scoring twice as Leicester beat Fulham in a penalty shoot-out to reach the Worthington Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

That didn't stop O'Neill, who abandoned his training to become a lawyer in favour of a football career, from saying: "We just can't remove Ian from the treatment table. He seems to be in love with it, and sits there thinking 'I'll have another cigarette and maybe the rest of the lads will go out and do something for me'.

"It is not until after Christmas that Ian seems to recover to make sure he gets another contract.

"I'm sure Ian knows he could have done more to get himself fit, and he will be disappointed at making so few appearances during his stay at Filbert Street. I didn't expect him to last more than 60 minutes against Fulham. Instead, he stayed out there for the full two hours and gave us everything.

He also claimed to check in with Spurs and get told all about their scouting report on KLP.

Pinch of salt needed I think.

Sorry to take this off topic but I'm weirdly pleased my socks remained in place..

No rushed decisions, no getting ageing mercenaries, improving positions that needed improving

And since a couple of these were clearly not first choice signings we've not splashed the cash - we've got them in on loans to assess. Even the Iranian lad (who really needs a nickname) is a loan with an option which is a win win as far as I'm concerned!

Might not be as glamorous as other teams but nice to have some solid foundations to build on without the worry of selling the likes of KLP and Greaves with another rebuild job on the cards!

Pushing for a higher finish this season makes no sense, finish comfortably mid table guaranteed which these signings will get us. If we get a run and end up higher happy days, no point starting the 3 year push before you have to sell for FFP in January when you’re currently 18th. If we get anywhere near top half this season and add to it in summer it’ll be happy days next season.

I could deal with that, but not a chance I'll remember his surname without googling it

I also think one of the things we might see in the future that we haven't seen for many years is reinvestment. One day KLP may leave to spurs or a top team and who could blame him at this point to be fair

But investing the money we make (without bending over and selling him for peanuts) may leave us in a stronger position!

To be fair we reinvested some of the Bowen money in Wilks and Scott..

I wonder where we stand with regards FFP.

The great sale of 2017 is obviously out of the equation but there is still the Bowen and Grosicki money.

Very healthily. We've made profits over the last few years, let alone making any allowable losses.

He refused to play for us on one game.in the Prem. Think it was Chelsea away. Claimed he was injured but the club Doc couldn't find anything wrong with him.
