Been reading that discussions are ongoing with Morrison over a contract. The rules around our embargo allows us to have 23 registered 1st team players, we currently have 22. We could sign players on a one in - one out basis if one of the 22 left on a permanent basis (loans out don't count) and the incoming player must be on a salary equal or lower than the one going out. Also we can only sign out of contract players or a loan where there is no additional fee above salary at the parent club and we can only sign a player to the end of the season. So, given the above, and that our problem is scoring goals, why would we be talking to a CB?
A fit, younger Morro probably has a better goal scoring record than our current strikers. Could be that Denham, for instance, is going out on loan and/or Nelson is to be sold. I think Morro still has to prove his fitness before any contract is considered. I'm not sure 3 or 4 Under 21 games covers that.
Another one out on loan https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ws/cardiff-city-transfer-news-summer-25848392
Hopefully he will learn how to defend. Been awful the twice I have seen him. Carabao Cup and Villa in the PW7 game.
Another one out? For me, that would be a big mistake................... https://the72.co.uk/2022/12/29/barn...ential-move-for-23-year-old-cardiff-city-man/
Doesn't seem to fit the bill for Hudson. Loan him maybe but not sell. However if Campbell is going surely that leaves us short at right back with only Alfa and Ng?
Just reading that Newport a cutting short their loan of 3 players who will be returning to their parent clubs, including Chanka Zimba. Not sure if that automatically takes up another slot in our squad, filling the 23rd slot allowed under the embargo. No detail on why Newport are ending the loans early.
Zimba got injured and has not been in their 18 in recent weeks. He didn't set the world on fire there. I suspect Newport are clearing the decks of underperforming loanees to bring in new ones over the next month. We've got a few they can have.
Football League World is suggesting that Nelson is off to Derby. Good luck to him if it’s true. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/derby-county-closing-in-on-transfer-swoop-for-cardiff-city-man/
Warne disses the alleged interest in Nelson - says there's no truth in it........... https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sp...ews/derby-county-transfers-paul-warne-7988961
I see two of our "relegation rivals" Blackpool and Huddersfield have both just signed loanees from Man City and Burnley respectively. No guarantees of success of course, but at least they can have a go whilst we're stuck in this quagmire of poor team management and even poorer club management.
Sean Morrison is to leave the club this month. A superb player and captain in my opinion who gave his all for the club. Good luck for the future Mozza.
Absolutely. Be interesting to see where he goes. I guess not fit enough for us and we are reluctant to take a risk on him.
