As deadline days go that was pretty pathetic for us. A few youngsters out on loan, a striker of "questionable" ability in and Willy Nelson's departure. Clearly we have had financial limitations and our main aim of the last week was to get a new manager. However no sign of the sorely needed left back and creative midfielder. While it looks like we put in another gutsy effort tonight we came away with rock all and saw insipid performances from a number of players. Our new manager needs to put a bomb under a few and hope Alfa returns soon while giving us a chance to see if Adams can make a difference if he can get him fit in a month or so. If something doesn't change get its going to be a dark last 3 months or so for this season.
This time last season we brought in Hughill Dramah Uche & Doyle to save our season. There was no chance of that this season with not having a manager in place and a transfer limitation, and that is due to woeful running of the club.
Longshot, maybe there will be a player who can kick with his left foot and do a half decent job at left back, released by his club so out of contract and signable by us. Just got to find a club in Europe who have cocked up by having 9 on loan outside their own country. Spurs messed up with that yesterday and had to terminate Matt Doherty's contract by mutual agreement so he could go to Atletico Madrid on a 6 month deal. He had 18 months left on his contract and Spurs may well have had to give him a financial guarantee for his last 12 months' wages should Atletico decide they don't want him after June. Could be a lot simpler and a UK club could just release a player. Never hoping to be that easy for us, is it?
If you can put up with the translation from French, our former left back is not having a good time at his new club.......... http://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-m...an-january-move-needs-quickly-show-wont-flop/
