Southampton are not interested in signing Daniel Sturridge and Ryan Sessegnon, according to Sky sources.
I like that they specifically cite transfers that simply won't happen. We're looking at a striker so close to signing with Everton that he was apparently at their last match, a CB in Mawson who isn't going anywhere with Swansea locked in a relegation battle, and Benteke who'd need to take a sizable pay cut to join (and who Palace are unlikely to dump at a cut rate price despite his current struggles). Real shame...we'll try so hard but fail to get them over the line.
We were probably never interested in these players....just names thrown up by the media and internet cowboys.
That's in an article written by our media mouthpiece, though. Wilson's pretty consistently the voice of our board, and I can't imagine that he just threw out names off speculation.

Wasn’t he the one who said we were looking at 2 German managers in the summer? Tuchel and Schmidt. Sounds like more **** from the board to appease the fans.
Perhaps Lfc are paying us in instalments which is why the money is spread out over a number of windows? I think the Board are in la la land if they don’t realise that we need reinforcements in now.
Can't necessarily read much into statements about spending it over several windows. If the club comes out and says it's going to spend spend spend then any clubs we try to sign players from will put their prices up. So they kinda have to say we won't be spending it all.
Meaning we can’t trust what he says any more than other random journo’s. He is fed what the board want made public, right now it will be pure spin.
