Hesketh has had one injury which kept him out for roughly 12 mths. Other than a kick against Burnley he has had no other’s of note. Has been excellent for U23’s and scored 4 goals in November but manger doesn’t appear interested in either him or Sims

I don't think you've been following either of them regularly enough.

Hesketh has had virtually a big injury every year for the past 4 years. If that doesn't stall a player, I don't know what will.

Sims hasn't even been back in training a month, and with 45mins of an u23 game, Pellegrino is hardly going to throw him in to a PL game. He did travel to Tottenham last week, so clearly he's being thought about.

Not wanting to be confrontational but you are incorrect. If you have a look at his U21/23 record he’s has played virtually every game after recovering from the knock against Burnley until his injury against Arsenal a couple of weeks after his Crystal Palace league cup appearance. He came back end of October. Agree with you on Sims though and like Hesketh has done probably needs a few more U23 games before he’s ready.

The Club has had three months to set up signings to address the immediate problems, yet we have as yet not even had a hint of any negotiations, totally unacceptable in the circumstances.

Saints reduced leaks to virtually nothing except what they put out themselves. And they have come out with something. How quickly into January they can sort the deals out - who knows.

Yep, I hear of hardly any news about incomings now. Just about **** kicking off and players going

Thing is, up until we scored and sat back, we looked bloody good. Considering how bad the pitch was, palace couldn't cope.
Why the **** didn't we try and ramm, it down their throats!!!!

Bloody good? That's an overstatement considering we didn't actually create any real opportunities. We looked our usual tidy, but easy to play against selves.

Would expect a larger sum to be spent in January than the Summer tbh. Wasn't expecting us to spend £70 million in January, and I don't think we need to.

I'm expecting that we'll spend about £20-25m in January (probably 1 permanent, maybe 2, and a loan), and then we'll sell £35-40m worth of players in the summer while bringing in a similar total. So, the usual, assuming we stay up.

"remain determined to add two or three players this transfer window"

Two wouldn't be sufficient. Three would potentially be just about acceptable; borderline.

Odd article though that states that we are looking at players such as Tosun, Benteke and Mawson, who in their own rights would be £25 million+, but then says the money will be spread over the next two transfer windows. Walcott (loan), Tosun (or similar) and a CB would do.

We like looking more than we like buying. Hate to bring up Newcastle again, but it was their thing, as well: toss out a number of expensive transfers that you're considering, and pursue somewhere better none and one of them.

Crickey if we are spending 60m over multiple windows don't expect much coming in this month. That's laughable given the mess we are in.
