But each player has to be judged on an individual basis. The "demands" aren't unreasonable and they don't downplay any commitment to the club on his part. They have to decide, and quickly, what their main objective is.
If they want promotion, then it's reasonable to give in on these terms (which will be relatively inexpensive when compared to signing an experienced player) in order to get them on the pitch and impacting games. It's no good having him on the pitch for 20 minutes a game with ability like he has.
If they want to make money, then by all means hold out, but it risks pissing off the dressing room, the manager and the player for the sake of a year. They aren't making a good case for him wanting to sign to an extra year, so why should he? Otherwise you could use the "you've been here since you were eight" argument at every contract negotiation, at some point that doesn't work anymore.
He's given a fair amount already, he'd give a hell of a lot more if he wasn't stuck on the sodding bench.
Some signing that
****ing Ehab!Got a game tomorrow and a thread on it but most are at their happiest slagging the Allams off
I want KLP to start tomorrow. He’s one of our best players. But I’m delighted that we’ve signed Gavin Whyte, he’s a good wide man and goal scorer.Got a game tomorrow and a thread on it but most are at their happiest slagging the Allams off

Personally I think KLPs representative is looking after his interests more then KLPs and I think the club's handling of this has just been plain stupid. KLP deserves a pay rise and the club deserve to get said player on a longer deal to protect the club more. It's a **** situation and potentially the biggest loser in this is KLP and his career development

I think KLP's agent also represents Brandon Fleming as well - Team MLS. They sorted out a new deal for Fleming in November, so they managed to deal with Ehab then.
Fancy getting such **** deals for their other clientsIt would seem so...

Does the fact that they sorted deals for Coyle and Fleming, but not Lewis-Potter, not tell you there's something wrong with the Lewis-Potter deal?
It’s not klp talk itsAllam talk. Football’s secondary on here nowadaysAm I the only one who's sick to death of the constant KLP talk?

What do you define as long term in L1?I just find it boring now. We're trying to get a top young player to commit long term, it was never going to be easy. We never got Bowen to commit long term
