Nobody tells the Allams how to conduct their contract negotiations.
He wants the deal to not be extended, the club want it extended by one year, how does your compromise work?
Regardless, the fact that we can't agree to tying down a player like him because of something the club want, as opposed to the player, is daft. Yeah, alright, he could get on and play and let it take care of itself etc, but you have to ask if the problems caused by the extra year are worth losing a player of his calibre. If he does well and goes again next year, we can maybe renegotiate.

Everyone has been crying out for the club to sign the younger players to longer deals to protect the club, now they are doing that they are in the wrong and should just give in to KLPs representatives demand's? The club had coached and developed him from age 8. Why on earth shouldn't they want a slightly longer commitment from the lad. If he's so desperate to get away and is confident he is going to make the grade long term, then put a minimum fee release clause in and sign a longer deal. Give a little back to the club that's given you the opportunity to become a footballer since a very very young age

He's already agreed to not take this seasons pay rise to get back into the starting XI, despite the club being contractually obliged to give him it and now they want to extend the deal as well.
The claims that this is about greed are absolute nonsense, he's being treated very poorly.
I can understand those that think he should should accept any deal, however **** it is, just to get back in the starting XI and hopefully get improved terms in the future, but that really isn't a clever way to treat your most promising players.

I must admit it's a strange situation. If he wants to sign a new contract now which ends in June 2022 (plus an extra option of one year by the club) I would describe that contract as being 18 months NOT two years.
The only thing our transfer activity has shown me so far is the fact that our tight arsed owners dont want to do anything more than give the club another lick of cheap paint. They have no ambition foresight or interest other than selling the lead weight they see as HullCity. If that means potentially staying in this ****ty league and in the process losing the best young prospect we’ve arguably had since Bowen did one... so be it.

I would have thought it was sensible that, if you offered a player more money, it would be in return for a longer contract.

He signed it because it was an improvement on the current contract he had. The one he's been offered recently is an improvement on his current one but his representative wants the improved deal but on the same length

So City, like most clubs, are offering more money but want an extended contract at the risk of pissing him off.
Your last post talks of the club not giving in to 'KLPs representatives demands' and there's plenty of others on various forums giving KLP and his agent a slagging for being greedy and ungrateful and wanting out, when all the kid wants to do is play football for his home club without getting shafted in the process.
