Was defo a good player for us, unfortunately, some fans couldn't see it, which seemed to have rubbed off towards our coach...but hey ho, they know best.......just saying!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

I really don't know what the fuss is all about, Paterson had a good career with us, he saw his contract out, was offered a chance to progress his foorball with Swansea and signed for them, he played well for them today and they took 3 points, good luck to Swansea, Cardiff are finding things tough at the moment but at this point we are above them both in the table and we were turgid yesterday, that's football.

We had an excess of players last season, 13/14 out of contract, the manager was told to reduce his squad and cut costs, he did his job, quite frankly I am a Bristol City fan and couldn't give a cows cuss about Swansea or Cardiff, we've got enough probs of our own, Flint, Pack, Paterson and Korey have all moved on good luck to them, we've got Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and a possible 17 games at home without a win, now that is a cause for concern.

One other comment, what dreadful news that Brooks has got the dreaded cancer at his young age, it was great to see both sets of fans get together and support him yesterday, I wish him well, far more serious things go on in life, football is only a game let's all enjoy it together.

So you don't want members of other boards discussing anything between themselves and Bristol City fans other than Bristol City then?

That is not my issue but if my fellow members want to engage with you about your clubs situation that is for them to decide, I have no reason to and my interest is nil.

How many of the "wish they were still with us" players left because they tired of the club's lack of forward thinking and ambition? Sure a lot of them moved to get better football but I just wonder how we could have fared with some of them?

I created this post because Pato played for us and I’ve been keeping an eye on how he’s doing.
We certainly needed to ship out a few players (still do) that’s true, but Pato was one I would have kept.
We are stuck with a few players that are less effective than Pato (Wells, Palmer). It’s frustrating for me to see him putting in decent performances for the Swans whilst we are struggling to win at home.

Isn't it the reason Pattereson was out of contract ?

City will be paying many thousands to Wells and Palmer each week for a while yet.

I keep an eye out for past players also, who I appreciated whilst they were here. I reckon we could field a "b" team with those that have gone on to pastures a new.[ still playing ] It would likely hold its own in LGE 1 ! DEFINETLY in lge 2 !!!!!

Probably once every 6 games at best, unfortunately some fans couldn't see it, probably because some of our fans were rubbing themselves off over our coach, but hey ho they knew best, just sayin'.

THAT was irresponsible and he should know better.
On his performances; he was inconsistent for us because the entire team was inconsistent (possibly Kalas and Bentley aside).. Who was CONSISTENT? In fact, who is consistent now?
Anyway, I assume it was a club decision not to renew his contract and we have no choice but to move on. Frustrating to see another ex player doing so well though.

That's cleared that up then. Bit of a parochial view on a football forum though, but that's your choice and fair enough.

When I'm PM'd or asked a question by your members whether it be on this forum or very often ours, I try to respond as a matter of courtesy as well as interest in the wider game. This can be over serious issues or just banter between fans.

If anyone across here with similar views wants to chat, has a question or even have a go at me or my club, fill your boots - there are no boundaries on a football forum other than those self imposed.

On his day he was unplayable, but I agree with Jiffie, those days were too few and far between. I don't know if the club offered him new terms and he rejected, but it very much appeared that he was one that NP simply let go. I also agree with BCFCR&W, the whole team remain inconsistent, Bakinson has gone backwards since he burst into the team last season, Wells has gone backwards, King has not lived up to his billing, and all round we remain thoroughly inconsistent. This for me is the frustrating thing, the previous 2 managers it was blamed on them being inexperienced and not 'up to the job', and yet we know have a vastly experienced manager, but the same problem. The fact we are no further on than 2 years and 2 managers ago is the biggest frustration for me.

That's the beauty of an open forum, people are inspired by their own thoughts and opinions and not lions led by donkeys as the saying goes, the only impositions are keep to humanity and forum rules.

If people feel the desire or need to have a conversation with you or anyone else on not606 good for them and I freely encourage them to do so, my preference and pride is Bristol City FC and that what this forum is headlined and will continue to do in a democratic and respectful way, if people don't like it tough.

The headline over the forum is indeed Bristol City, but it's a part of a much wider not606 community.

Those who only post on their own club forums and on matters about their own clubs are by far in the majority. However there are those who like to discuss other clubs managers, players and general affairs on a broader front. Thats my view anyway about democratic and respectful forum.

Incidentally, I don't find it tough at at all - what's that all about?

Nothing more to add of value to a pointless conversation.
