Agreed, and it's not necessarily anyone here but just generally with a big group of saints fans it feels like no matter what JWP does they would still think he is bang average. His stats & performances are anything but average.
I don't think anyone on here is guilty, the Mods would have weeded them out very quickly. It is apparent on other sites who don't moderate the posts.
He offers 'fear' to opposing defenders mind sets when tackling our forward players at 35 yards or less!
Yeah he is far from bang average, and I think me and you feel out a little over him before. I do see his value to our team though, but I would sell him if an offer was right for us, just cos of how much else that could help out team. I’m also not convinced he wouldn’t want to move if Top 6 came in for him. Im not sure he’d move for a Villa or Newcastle, although the latter could throw £200k pw at him and I’m sure he’d see Newcastle as a pig after 10 pints.
What’s his beef with us? We paid his salary for some years even when he was mainly injured. We even wheeled him out in his twilight period where he stood on the same spot, looking decrepit and ineffective.
And rightly so! Of course, if he does go we'll console ourselves with the thought that he was always a skate JWP is a lot like his 'idol' David Beckham in that he has worked hard to be a very good player rather than rely on 'natural talent', As old Nigel used to say, hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard
Clearly caused some dressing room issues too. [/QUOTE] What, like deciding to let Pardew bed his Missus and then invite a headbutt from Osvaldo??
Very much deserved too. Not sure if this helps our case of hanging on to him or not. On one hand, other clubs could take a closer look at him, on the other JWP may feel his abilities (and chances of an England place) can be recognised/realised at Saints. Either way, this does no harm in us demanding a ridiculous fee for him.
