Sky Sports sources understand Leicester City have made a bid for Hull City defender James Chester.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson signed the highly-rated centre-back when in charge at the KC Stadium and now wants to take him to the King Power Stadium.

Leicester are aiming to strengthen their defence before Tuesday's transfer deadline and are also understood to have made a renewed offer for Nottingham Forest's Wes Morgan.

Pearson has a history of signing young talent who have had an association with Manchester United, including the recent arrival of Danny Drinkwater, and Chester would continue that pattern.

It remains to be seen if Leicester are successful in their bid to sign the 23-year-old, with Hull chairman Assem Allam recently saying he would not sell any players to Leicester.

OLD NEWS RE-HASHED. As nothing is happening anywhere even sky are having to make up stories. Pathetic.

Sky broke both the bids for Cameron Stewart. You can't say they are making stuff up. Leicester obviously leaked them the Stewart stuff.

I'd have been amazed if we'd got through January without them making a bid for Chez. If they've offered less than £4m, they are taking the piss. I'd deal at £6m.

Sky Sports are usually reliable, they're not some red-top, they don't make up stories. <doh>

They've certainly been economical with the truth, especially around transfer window time. I mentioned earlier about them hyping a story about a City transfer even though they'd shown our chairman locking up and going home and saying business closed.

Forest just comfirmed we have made a 3rd bid for Morgan, i think the Chester thing is a load of rubbish to be honest

A bid for a player means nothing. Did Leicester bid for Stewart? Did they bid for Sharp? Did they bid for Kebe? And which of these did you get?
I don't know why Leicester fans can't just calm down and see who you actually get.

Dont they ? get real This is a re-hash of old news. <ok> Even you should be able to see that.<doh>

How can it be rehashing old news? They haven't bid before. it outright states they've made a bid. Same as the Cam Stewart stories. Which were true.

The story doesn't say he likes Chester, it says he's bid for Chester. Which will have been leaked by Leicester. Nigel liking our players isn't news. he signed most of them so it's blindingly obvious.

The whole Stewart thing was a piss take. As for Chester, Not for sale. The damage it would do to club morale for starters if it happened. You would deal @ 6m would you ? thank god your not in charge then. <doh>
