I was reminded of some of those posts on here when he didn't move for tha
Daft question, have you seen our games? The amount of individual errors has been shocking. We had a lovely tendancy to give free headers from both corners and open play. We've had a midgets scoring against us for god sake e.g. Campbell.

Last night was very much down to Silva and his staff, there was a better, more rigid shape and Man Utd struggled to break us down, hence the shooting from range.

We still conceded twice from crosses though, which is still disappointing.

If Marshall plays against Bournmouth I really hope he has a corker of a game. I think if he has one really solid game and makes a few very good saves that (hopefully) gets us a result he should hopefully just get better and better. At the minute he hasn't 'won' us a game like Jak which is why I think a lot of fans like Jak in the team.

Caught out of position twice, flat footed three times, didn't even dive for the free kick or that early chance in the first half which is pathetic. Didn't command his area, defenders blatantly had no confidence in him,, he got lobbed, can't kick the ball to a city player.

If he starts in goal on Saturday Silva is a ****ing idiot. Hopefully he can see what the rest of us can.

what are his choices?

Marshall will start on Saturday. I think Jak playing the last two games is evidence of that and who Silva considers the better keeper.

Regarding the coach working with him, he's 30 something now surely? He's not going to be learning many new tricks.

Probably only fair that Marshall gets the chance to show what he can do on a match-day so he may well be in-between the sticks on Saturday, just know who I would prefer for the longer stint. Agree that he might not learn any new tricks as such, but practice on addressing weaknesses can still lead to improvement - that's why there are specialist goalkeeping/striking coaches at most clubs.

I think there was a point when dropping Jak and bringing in Marshall were fair points to argue, but that's done, surely? Personally I just want the GK who will let in the least goals and that is Jak. Especially when you consider the makeshift defences he has had to work with.

This Marshall:Jakupovic barney has been running a while.

I thought MS would play Marshall at some point, for to check him out.

He's read it right and I reckon he'll stay with the Jak until (breakdown) injury/loss of form and then Marshall will get a look in. There's also what MS sees on the training ground. There used to be many apologies for Brucey and Phelan on that basis, but this feels real. MS looks to have grasped the situation and made a difference already.

I was quite happy when Marshall came in...he had been lauded despite Cardiff being relegated and I'd always thought he was a really good keeper. I don't necessarily think he has been disastrous since he came in, and has actually made some really good saves. The only real rick I remember was him punching the ball in his own net, costing us right on half time v Everton, and, even then, it's not like McGregor hasn't had similar disasters for us.
For whatever reason though, whether he doesn't organise his defence as much, isn't as vocal or whatever it is, it is hard to deny something must be wrong somewhere when we concede so many goals per game over a period of time with one keeper, and half that with someone else.

Personally I don't think there is much between Jak and Marshall ability wise, so I am not fused either way which one plays. I do however feel Jak communicates with the defenders better and I like his enthusiasm, so on balance prefer to see him in goal.

What I do find strange was why we bought him in the first place, we had McGregor and Jak plus Kuciak, we needed strengthening in other areas more than in goal, so why did we spunk 3.5-5M on him?
