I doubt it's entirely mental health tbh. That tends to be up and down and I doubt he's been pretty much permanently down since signing for Man City.

I honestly think there has to be something psychologically wrong with Rodwell. It just doesn't make sense why he would do what he has done, yes you may think your better than the club your at but so what your being paid shot loads of cash just play football and enjoy yourself. It seems he was planning on how not to take part when selected to play. We can all say he was a lazy bastard that came for the money but surely anyone with half a brain would still try and play football.
He was one strange ****er

Sadly for the same reason Blackburn and Sheffield United did, we thought there was a really decent player with plenty of potential there, who'd had a bad time at his previous club and that could be put back on track by us. I bet most of the warnings from our fans to Sheffield United fans about him was ignored, much as most of the rumours about him from City fans were ignored by us. It's sad that there's been plenty of players over the years who've had their careers cut short and earned next to nowt compared to him, yet he is still bleeding a wage out of clubs. No doubt when SUFC chase him there'll be some other mug who'll think they can get something out of him.

Perhaps a reunion with Everton might awake him from his malaise, he has never been the same player since he left he perhaps needs the smell of the Mersey to perform , perhaps Tranmere or Marine could be suckered in to signing him , don’t think Liverpool or Everton would be tempted .
