I went to the "protest march" yesterday.
Thousands walking by indifferently.
95% of people are only interested in things that affect them and will not inconvinience themselves for any kind of greater good.
Apathetic doesn"t sum it up.
No wonder bullies get away so much for so long.Pathetic.
Thank goodness People of Hull stood up against slavery and royalist control.
If they could have seen the indifference in people yesterday to a serious curtailing of personal freedom they would not have been impressed.
As for the guy who started this-I hope you see the game you deserve.I think there were a few miners in Notts who had a similar view to yourself.
Maybe you should change your user name to me me me me me
And no I am not a socialist.
I just will not accept being bullied

Firstly I don't like the 'scab' inference
Secondly I'm 47 I've seen plenty of instance like this and I'm pretty confident in the end result, afterall what exactly did happen to the Yorkshire pits? Worked out well didn't it??
Thirdly, I've stood up to bullies, unfortunately my last episode ended with 24 hours in the cells and a trip to Hull Crown court, thankfully after pleading guilty to two counts of GBH, wounding and battery the judge only gave me CS and recognised it was self defence when summing up, no damages or fines thank ****.

Last but not least your a cock ;)

Oh and I stood outside the west stand yesterday and watched the youths carrying g the banner, I was really uninspired. By the way I did hope for a change of decision from WYP but its not coming so I'm going to make the best of the situation and crack on.

So nothing is ever worth fighting for? It’s never worth standing up for what you believe in? Sacrifice isn`t worth it? History teaches us that does it?

“Thirdly, I've stood up to bullies, unfortunately my last episode ended with 24 hours in the cells and a trip to Hull Crown court, thankfully after pleading guilty to two counts of GBH, wounding and battery the judge only gave me CS and recognised it was self defence when summing up, no damages or fines thank ****.”

Don’t understand how all this detail is relevant apart from to perhaps demonstrate to the forum that you’re hard or something.

Leon, the message is 'pick your fights mate' there some you can win and others you can't. In this case it's the latter, so what I can do, I will and thats supporting the team.

The team will want support on other days too. Don't forget we only get to go at all because the WYP (with no evidence to justify it) kindly allow us to albeit with restrictions that include reduced numbers. What's to stop them reducing the numbers of people "allowed" to support further in the future?

Of course, that question is begged, but I think there has to be an element of realism. They made a poor decision that was challenged through legitimate lobbying and rational argument, they made some concessions, hardly face-saving one's, but about as good as we would get; anything more would have seriously challenge their credibility.

This level of restriction is not unique, but our collective response has been; we, at both club and national supporters level, have put a very big and easily monitored stake in the ground and we should be proud of that; it would be followed up by clear and decent demonstration, but outside and within the ground - under no circumstances should it infringe the enjoyment of others.

This is now something that should be monitored and resurrected if and when necessary, to detract from our away support is a bit of an empty gesture and will go pretty much unnoticed. All very frustrating, but that's life; unless it is do or die, fight battles you have a chance of winning - one of those battles is promotion; we've made a very strong point, now let's get our eye back on the ball. That's my opinion.

You talk as though it's over!

It's unlikely the WYP will change their decision for Huddersfield, despite it not even achieving their stated goal of stopping "risk" supporters drinking in Huddersfield as they're still going. The actions continue way beyond that though and on a much wider scale.

Some people give in far too easily.

Excellent post.

You sum up the individualistic ‘couldn’t give a ****’ attitude that is prevalent today.

No, it simply highlights a pair of ****s who think they can dictate to their fellow fans - and you dare to criticise the WYP for bullying!

Fair enough and of course, you do what you think is right.

Naturally, the entire action might well be ultimately futile, but in my opinion that shouldn’t discourage or sully the fight and I don’t think ‘we’ should be dismissive if people are making a stand.

If we stand up and then other clubs’ fans in similar situations do, we could be a part of change in the longer term.

Could you explain exactly what I am dictating to fellow fans?

Agree, I perhaps should have said that I'm not being dismissive of the action being taken, I really admire what these people are trying to achieve and I hope it leads to some changes. When I walked in I passed that young lad whose championed taking legal action against WYP, he was being filmed and Burnsy was behind them on RH. I really he's successful as well.

Good stuff.

Let’s work and hope towards getting two ‘away’ victories that day.

Some people give in far too easily.

You disappoint me; try reading my post.

I have made it clear that I believe we have achieved all we can in this instance. I have also made it clear that us (and other clubs) can resurrect the protest when it becomes appropriate. What about that is 'talking as if it is all over' or 'giving in far too easily'; I am going to watch with interest the results of your pompous indignation. The national supporters group are quite capable of taking this further, to be fair they have been very quiet over previous similar occurrences and should hang their heads in shame that they have only now become involved.

My bottom line is that you (us) have all made an excellent and dignified stance, it has drawn belated national supporter attention and top level political support - the first job is done; what I now see as futile and self-serving is to carry out the boycott of our away team - it a baby and bath-water thing now.

I don't give up easily, believe me, nor do I like jumped up Johnnies telling me or fellow supporters what we should do. You have my opinion, but I would always support your right to exercise yours, as long as it is legitimate.

The silly insults mean I can't really take the rest of your comment seriously especially as you talk of "resurrecting" something that hasn't died.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

The decision to boycott or to attend is a personal one and I'll criticise no-one for either stance.

Personally, I won't be attending, I think some things are more important than what happens at a single football match.

Much more important.

We pay their wages, we agree the laws they enforce, did anyone agree to these laws?

Did they ****.

Just a thought, but instead of having to organise this on individual match days, why don't WYP:-

Restrict us all to living in certain controlled areas of the city.

Forbid us from entering certain other parts of the city. Stop us from attending Public Schools and Cinemas

Make us sew yellow (Amber?) stars on our cloths so we can easily be identified.

Just a thought, but it would seem to fit their profile of action. I guess they could alter their own uniforms to something more "striking" as well. Any suggestions?

Fu(k WYP
Fu(k the bubble

I'm off to support the team at Huddersfield

I'm off to the pub for an afternoon session, I'll be taking 5 or 6 pints inside me on the bus, a bottle of Vodka and orange

I'm off to sing, shout, support the lads

Fu(k the boycott, it'll have no impact to the future of policing football matches. What matters now are 8 games of football, win them and nowt else matters

I don't see anyone bullying or dictating.

There is an unmistakable element to some posts that folk who exercise a different opinion and choose an alternative action are in some way disloyal or against the so-called common good - that is using some self established principle to support and your own views and to try and shame others into adopting them. It's simple, you do what you want to do and leave others to their own conscience.

I haven't told anyone what to do or even really commented on people deciding to attend. I've simply expressed my opinion. I leave the cyber thuggery to others.

We have done something, some more than others, but who's counting; unfortunately the earlier posts seem to imply that some are. That was my point.

As for the law, I understand your frustration and the inadequacies of WYP, but I am certain they can justify this by law - as flawed as that may be. I would love to be wrong and will watch any legal action with great interest.
