So naïvety and lack of supervision. The covers shouldn't have made it out of the wrapping.

Personally I'd have left it all up, let them smash it up and then hammer them for the cost of a very expensive complete refurb.

Aye I'd have done the same, fair enough remove or replace valuable and rare items beforehand. If they act like twats then it ends up in the press and shows just what type of fans they are.

The work was done by a contractor who works for both us and the scum but is an out and out mag so naively they let them get on with it let’s hope he’s shot himself in the foot and now only works for them
That is what I was told. The contractor has worked for both clubs for years and is a well established business in Gateshead. I don't know who ordered the signs or allowed them to be brought to the ground but the contractors were left to do the work as instructed by whoever employed them (don't know if it was us or them) as they have worked at the stadium on numerous occasions over the years and were trusted contractors.
This has obviously been an error on somebody's part and think a full investigation will be needed but for me it needs to be done professionally and away from the spotlight. I think that jobs may be lost and reputations tarnished but hope that we do not have a full blown media circus around it. Let KLD sort this as he has taken ultimate responsibility as all good leaders do but he will be privately seething at what has happened and you can guarantee he will not roll over on this one.

Imagine if this much energy was going into objection to sports washing and human rights breaches. What would the headlines be then? It’s like collective self harm
I know it makes me sound like I need to put my tinfoil helmet on, but it makes me think that this is possibly why this has been done/the images of it leaked.
It makes us turn in on ourselves and means we can't concentrate on pointing out their tacit acceptance of human rights abuses. The disruption to our club and the relationship between the club and supporters gives them an edge before kick off. They need to win because the 'richest club in the world' can't be seen to lose to their lower league neighbours. It's not good for the Saudi PR campaign. They should have been coming into a cauldron of passion opposed to everything about Propaganda Tool FC. Now we're fighting amongst ourselves.

It's on the back page of virtually every newspaper this morning and is the main topic of conversation in the online BBC sport fa cup coverage.

Nah, it's nothing though.

Get off your knees man.
It is a colossal **** up but there's little we can do as fans. The only way we can put it behind us is to stick together behind the team. Beating the twats will show that no matter how much provocation there is, they can't get under our skin.

You can't tell other people how to react. Each of us have our own reactions and opinions about it. Just because you are outraged it doesn't make you right, nor does it mean the rest of us have to follow

Had to look on here for a more balanced reaction.

Off the pitch, clubs been a shambles since league one days simple as that.

On matchdays in the North tunnel there's always a group of folded arms, earphone wearing individuals in suits and club tracksuits, no idea what their purpose is, always seems to me, that it's a "I'm more important than you" gig. WTF have the stewards got Adidas predator boots etc on FFS.

Outrage is demanding the owners sell up. That's not right.

I want accountability for this PR catastrophe, wherever it lies.

What's also not right is the 'nothing to see here' attitude on display by some. It's gotten us nothing in the past and will get us nothing in the future.

If your suggesting it is JONSIGNS they have distanced themselves and said they haven't done business with either club for about 6 years.

It was here long before League One but you're right.

While everyone was having a dickie fit over Methven's approach the fact is there is TV evidence that there were also people at the club who didn't want to do anything at all and were offended by being asked to do the jobs they were paid for.

Only what I was told if it is not them then fair enough I did also say that I was not sure who had employed them or who had placed the orders so was not blaming them at all just passing on info I was told. But yes JONSIGNS was the name I was given and to be fair I was told this by 2 separate people who are not on this forum and as far as I know do not know each other, but it seems they may well both have been wrong.

If people weren't so sneaky with taking pics and posting them everywhere then this wouldn't have got out.
Contractor adorns the walls with rivals colours. Owner finds out and demands it is removed. Likely contractor never works for SAFC again

If people weren't so quick to jump the gun, post pics, incite outrage and demand answers then this is a storm in a tea cup. As usual, people making assumptions about the owner before he has a chance to respond.
The club apologised and the owner apologised personally = neither apologies were necessary as this was the work of a rogue contractor doing it for the batnz

Do you have that information as fact? Surely the club will be suing said contractor for the negative pr and potential commercial ramifications?
