It’s really not. They’re laughing at the fact their bitter rivals have decorated their stadium for them arriving. Has any club actually ever done that for a normal match never mind their rivals?
Just shrug your shoulders and don't take yourself too seriously. It's not exactly an amazing 'gotcha' is it? 'Ha, your owner allowed for some black and white signs to be put up in your own stadium!' . 'Well your owner wanted to marry an eleven year old, throws gays of buildings and cuts up journalists with a bonesaw...etc'.

It's all about PR mate. Not just that platform, all of them. It's how the vast majority of our fans and others around the world interact. It's why jobs in this area are so important and the top ones are there to build the brand and trust into the ownership of director group. We seem to have dropped a grenade onto ours all for 1 game game.

Everything has been handled poorly and most expect better. They deserve it too. Especially when the filth are coming to town.

TBH mate, this is absolutely nothing compared to the match.

It was built up into something massive and dealt with ...

... but some people will drag it out for years like they have with Byrne and Adam Johnson or di Canio and his Mussolini tattoos.

I just find it all incredibly tedious and childish when we have a derby followed by a game at Ipswich.

It increasingly makes me pine for the old days when we didn't know wtf was going on and were much happier.

I'm sure KLD's statement won't be enough for some people who'll continue to stamp their feet instead of concentrating on the match.

People wanted a statement, got a statement but will now be unhappy with the statement ... I don't care tbh.

**** sticks and the internet doesn't forget. That's the issue. It's not like the olden days where it's printed and it's binned the same day. This will come round full circle and appear often. If the filth get a win on Saturday be even worse.

You could always come back with an answer to say that we did it to make them feel at home cos we couldn't fit a guillotine block in!

It’s a massive balls up I get it. It’s embarrassing I get it. It’s not life changing though. It’s almost comical and I’m laughing with my mates. There’s a wolves fan on to me taking the piss now, asking if I’m drinking brown ale Saturday.. The biggest drama is the overreaction. Just laugh it off and the club will heed this.

I don't think he's wrong in saying most Sunderland fans would have welcomed a similar type of takeover.

Money and success will allow people to be complicit in anything. Personally, I would have been against it but my club is important to me only because of my family ties and memories. Many think success is the most important thing.
I wouldn’t have a thing to do with the club again.

It’s got nowt to do with any complex sh*t mate, our club have simply f***ed up on this and us fans are the ones who will take the flak

I'll be on the Metro from Newcastle so will make sure I give some back.

We've had an admin error, they murder journalists for speaking out of turn ffs <laugh>

'every decision that is taken by the employees'

So someone knew.

Accountability time.

Of course signage isn't getting created and measured, fitted perfectly within a secure stadium

<laugh><laugh><laugh>

As I have said, we will see how the top man sees it.

Anything other than dishing out p45s then it's not good enough.

Seems like a reasonable statement.

He takes accountability but also states that changes will be made, which I read as staffing changes.

It's a PR **** up, he's owned it and apologised. He does now need to act on it.

That being said, it's only humiliating or embarrassing if you allow yourself to feel that way. I know who I am and why I support my club. No media coverage and certainly no mag will ever make me feel less than pride for my club. They can't touch me, their opinions are irrelevant.

Don't be so pompous man, if no one is sacked you'll do nothing more than twist on here.

It’s a sensitive topic and interpretations differ <laugh>

When Stavely approached Liverpool they rejected it outright

In my opinion Newcastle weren’t that different from us before John Hall and Sky started blowing smoke up their collective rear ends.

My Granda used to talk about going there one week and Roker Park the next.

Since the early nineties they’ve been angry nobody took them seriously as a top PL club. Ashley using them as a glorified billboard made it even worse. Like a starving stray dog, they didn’t care where the money and attention came from.

I don’t think SAFC have that level of entitlement and I couldn’t see us accepting Saudi money with the sheer joy and jubilation they displayed outside St James.
