Don't think anybody has mentioned pelters yet. Well i got pelters owa the road for saying I didn't trust them from day dot. Posted some cheeky little numbers to see how far the North Koreans had advanced and got a lengthy ban. Don't blame anybody for being open minded but brought up on a council housing estate I tend to go with my gut feel and it rarely let's me down tbh.

- Has he ever gave us a deadline for the investment, I’m not on about updates, I’m on about an actual deadline investment would be secured?

- He backed a manager yes, then as results and performances rapidly deteriorated and the supporters feelings declined towards said manager he felt it was time for him to go. He’s not the first nor the last owner who will do this.

- His mistake was going on social media in the first place. He tried to communicate through that medium and help supporters, but as the takeover rumours grew and the abuse increased he decided it was best to come off. More naive than anything else.

- It is vital the appointment of the next manager is a success. If this takes a little longer than planned, so be it.

- The club being at its lowest point league wise isn’t his fault, he failed to get us back up first time but he never put us here, in fact, his first year was mainly taken up by sorting out the mess he inherited.

He’s not perfect, far from it, and he has made many mistakes, but some of the criticism, especially when based on hear say, is, in my opinion, over the top.

"The club being at its lowest point league wise isn’t his fault."

We're in L1 despite his plans, out of the top 2 and play off positions despite his plans, have no manager 3 days before a game, a shortlist of uninspiring replacements, no scouting system, floundering reserve team, demoralised support, team that was walked all over by Lincoln, etc, etc, etc.

How much of that is not his fault?

Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle in the context of this forum:
Principle states that you can't accurately say where something is AND its direction/speed at the same time.

So :
if we KNOW that Parkinson is at the training ground, we can't know if he's heading in or out of the club, and how soon

If we know he's the next manager and when, we can't say he's at the training ground.

What's this got to do with SAFC's future? Sod all.

but then this post fits in well with a lot of this thread

I was referring more to being in L1 in the first place and the club being in the position where cost cutting was a necessity. I agree, failure to gain promotion last season was a failure. I would place more of that blame at Ross’ door than Donald’s however. Up until the Coventry game we were on course to achieve promotion. I can’t remember a clamour to sack Ross at this point. I take on board the argument he should have been sacked after the play off final, he decided to stick by him, and it never worked.

Yes we are out of the play off positions, but it’s very early days, we are a win away from 3rd, it’s not panic stations just yet. Hence we need to get this next appointment right.

Christ.

I really need to stop being so optimistic about my club / team and get more cynical / suspicious.

I jumped all over someone over the road yesterday because he accepted this appointment as truth and attacked the club.

Part of my thinking was I didn't imagine that a club potentially on the verge of a takeover NEEDING promotion this season would entertain employing him.

I hope to god its not true, because if we sign him I'll have no faith in the takeover happening.
Sorry to say it but you really really do mate<ok>

Still cannot believe that he got rid of Jack Ross without a replacement manager lined up. Now that is shocking!!! Also saying that we would get 100pts, why not just say that he wanted a top 2 position. He really knows how to set himself up for a fall.
Now I’m not a big gambling man, but I’m willing to wager that we’ll get nowhere near 100 points this season.

He's a gobshite playing to the gallery - IMO.

Just received this from a very good mate and respected poster ....

..... "Apparently Parkinson has turned it down."

FFS man, its so bad its laughable!

Maybe that's why the meeting didn't happen ?

Was it to introduce Parkinson to the staff ?

It's not beyong the bounds of possibility is it?

For 'Rubberface' to be told the same thing, at the same time, would make you think there was a meeting.

My eyes lit up, when I saw his post, because it tied in with what I'd been told.

I'd hoped, as I know the Americans are still around, that it was the meeting I was advised about a fortnight ago.

Then, this afternoon, it's no longer happening and Donald is at the AOL.

So I'll just post whatever, from what I'm told, sounds credible.

If people, here or elsewhere, don't like it that's their concern ....

.... it's certainly none of mine.
