Good luck to the bloke. Not his fault he has been offered the job.

Serious questions should be asked of Donald and comments like ' we are in cracking financial shape'. What we see is different from the reality.

Let's hope parkinson starts fast

The thing that I'm struggling with is next year without the Parachute payments we have a major financial issue and a circa 15 million pound difference between income and expenditure.

That's makes us an even worse prospect for investment as we can't cover our costs, so why risk the opportunity with the takeover and the choice of manager?
I think they've said that they can keep going after all the cost cutting so long as we don't get promoted.

We are in cracking financial shape to stay in division 3, it's the promotion that's the cause for concern and would require new investment

Absolutely - Methven and Donald have openly admitted this though so haven't really hidden anything. They said they have the finance to sustain us comfortably in this league, when we get promoted they will have to seek investment from elsewhere.

I'm just looking onwards - There are people at our club who won't give Parkinson (if it is him - which seems almost 100% now) a game to get sorted. They will turn immediately. Stendel may have got longer - in reality none of us know what happened in the interviews - maybe Parkinson gave the best account of himself at interview. Just because he's not a fans favourite doesn't mean he's going to fail!

I was told weeks ago, by someone, on this thread, that Fowler would be going.

I was also told, this week, that Parkinson would be appointed on a short contract and would use existing staff whereas Pearson wanted all of his own and a longer contract. That was also info from someone who posts on here and RTG but daren't risk posting. As this is only a gossip and opinion board that's a shame imo.

Understand James Fowler's contract was sorted last night and he has left [HASHTAG]#safc[/HASHTAG]. Suggestion is that Potter and Samson may stay on as part of new manager's backroom staff

We're too big to make a decent profit in a league this size. As soon as the goodwill Stew and Methvan built up evaporates, crowds will fall and the costs of a huge stadium, large academy and relatively large staff will start to bite.

They've bit off more than they can chew. If they can't sell the club or win promotion this season I'm not sure what their next move will be other than "investment" which looks less and less likely the more they mess things up.

I said a while back that Donald could become our Ashley ...

... I seriously hope I'm wrong but the parallels are glaring.

We probably are in cracking financial shape after all the cost cutting. Two bob millionaires looking to make a killing out if us

I hope the covenants re the land on which the aol training facility stands are rock solid.
There'd be some rich pickings for a pair of carpet bagging wide boys if property and land development were in their mindset.
But hey I have been reliably informed that stewie and charlie have our best interests at heart and would never chance their arms in such shady dealings..no really

It's absolutely no surprise that people want to buy the club or, at least, invest.

The potential is immense.

Any sharp businessman would be looking at the club ...

... just as Donald did.

I seem to recall getting quite the battering for pointing out some of their methods :D

Good that people are aware. He claims to have £20m to invest in us, I don't see when he intends to do that if he isn't putting it in in L1, and wants investment by the Championship? Maybe he would if he couldn't find a proper buyer I guess... maybe...

Precisely ....
I'm sure I read that when when charlie, donald and Juan put a bid in to buy oxford a few year back, there was consternation and a lot of opposition because Juan said the deal involved property/and or land development
