Not that I'm doubting your figures ... but it is quite amusing that your 'source' for our man is 'forbes' yet for your man it is something akin to 'things I'd love to believe about Hull' ... what did Forbes have your man at?

BBC Sport and the Daily Mail have him at "over £150m", just from a quick Google.

I suspect both of those figures are probably out of date, Assem's fortune was up to £287m in this years Times Rich List, one place behind the queen.

For the record, I don't think Assem qualifies for the Forbes Thailand Rich List, so in answer to your question, they did have him at all. (Neither of them would make the Forbes full list)

If he quits, he quits! End. Anyone can quit a job at any time. You put someone on gardening leave if there continued presence in the working environment undermines fellow colleagues or reduces productivity. It's basically seeing out a contract until it expires without sacking someone. This is what happened to Holloway when he was at QPR when he was first linked with the Leicester job. Holloway never quit, because the Leicester job was never offered to him at that time!

The worst you could do is sue Pearson for breach of contract, which would be a personal matter between him and you. And even then, everyone knows contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on.

It doesn't matter how rich club owners are. Only how much they are willing to spend. And ours are very willing to spend.

Doughty at Forest is always in the 100 richest people in the UK lists, but he spends bugger all on the team.

If he quits then we still get compensation as he is contracted for 20 more months......unless you want to wait till the 20 months have surpassed to employ him?

It does matter to the context of the conversation that the figures were brought up in. If they're so willing to spend then cough up the £2m and let's all leave this sorry episode behind.

Any key member of my staff who walks out can't work for another company in the same business for a minimum of three months, it's written in their contracts, just as it's written into NP's.

Thank you for clarifying that one OLM - I mentioned this yesterday as other teams have done it in the past had clauses from cherry picking players in the transfers.....but Proud Fox knows very little and thinks Leicester can come claiming anyone with their little money they have!

Have you ignored everything that's gone on today? If you did have enough for Nige then he'd be your manager already wouldn't he? There would be no negotiation based delays.

Alright nice one, I'm guessing the rational discussion is over. Can't believe it lasted so long to be honest. Good luck for the rest of the season and with Pearson, hope you get what you're after from him. :emoticon-0167-beer:

I'm ambivalent about him leaving too to be honest. It sounds a lot like sour grapes and honestly it's not, but his brand of football is frighteningly dull. I can put up with that if you win 9 games out of 10 a la Mourinho but he's won 1 in 3 since he's been with us.

I'm so grateful to the guy because of what he's done for us. When he took over we were financially ruined and he's got rid of overrated, wrong-side-of-30 spongers and replaced them with young, talented footballers on a budget. We're in a much better position on and off the field than we were, but had he been able to deal with big-headed yet talented players (one James Bullard springs to mind) I can't help but feel we'd be higher up the league.

Mixed feelings really, mainly because of not being sure who we can replace him with. As usual exciting names have been mentioned, but some bloody horrors have been too, so I guess when the new man's appointed will we know whether we're better off or worse.
