If a junkie steals a laptop and gets caught should he not be punished because he looks after his elderly mother?

    Eh ?

" That's when you do something "........ you mean do something wrong, don't you ?

And when you do something wrong such as go into administration that is "punishable " by a 10 point deduction, yeah ?

Therefore it's a punishment which we accepted.

You didn't have a choice. It's what happens automatically.

As for redwino saying the staff etc shouldn't be punished, you have a point, it's not their fault. But why should there be no punishment for the crimes you committed just because of the position you are in? It's irrelevant . You commit an offence you get punished its tough luck the position you are in

    It was an independent panel

Their options included "any other reasonable punishment"

The appeal, which a judge sat on, found it reasonable

The court of session said it should not be used

However as Sion found out, courts do not run football

    Many more punishments due

You'd love to break Rangers but the more you try the more you strengthen our resolve.

Just live with the fact that where we are you'll always be second best.

Forget the junkie - the point I'm trying to make is that the innocent parties are being punished and I'm questioning the motives for that.

    Correct. It's an automatic punishment.

Which we accepted because we were in breach.

    I don't believe Sevco should be punished<ok>

If they want to transfer the licence from Rangers, then of course it makes absolute sense that they should have to face any punishment due on that licence.

If they want to apply for their own licence, then no punishment. I think that is fair enough.

So let's get this straight, it's the same club.

If it's the same club then it's the same club who used dual contracts and won trophies while emplying dual contracts - which are against SFA rules.

Forfeiture of said trophies is therefore entirely justified.

I for one have not argued that Rangers should lose their "History", but you cannot be selective in which parts are retained. If Rangers are found in breach then they should be stripped of the honours won during the period covered.

Or would that not be fair on someone?

Innocent parties in the Dunfermline support have to face lower league football because their players were not good enough, Is that fair on them?

Perhaps if John Yorkston had brought in some better players and paid them through some sort of employee benefit trust and pretended it was just a loan. Or maybe if he had just not bothered paying tax at all and spent the money he saved on better players. Maybe then Dunfermline wouldn't have been relegated.

Of course it would be unfair to punish the fans if Yorkston had done this.

Im not sure just how serious you are trying to be here, nevertheless...

most people who Ive spoken to - who are not rangers fans - simply see it as rangers having used underhand dealings to achieve cups and titles in relatively recent times that they otherwise may not have won. And, yes, I accept that the dual contract issue is something that we have not had a definative answer on..but what is out there so far is pretty damning, and there is a general feeling that the sfa are ****ting it to walk into that minefield at the moment.

Basically, if, say hearts had won the league with a squad of expensive players and it came to light that this had been financed by unfulfilled tax obligations and undeclared offshore payments the media would be baying for blood and a rewrite of the history books...many fans are taking this issue up simply because it is ignored in the media and they actually do feel it is injust - entirely seperate from whichever team was involved.

Put it like this ; we recently had the unedifying media spectacle of lorenzo amoruso " pleading" to keep his medals , as he " won them on the pitch with his blood, sweat and shouting "...the point that he was there to bleed, sweat and shout in the first place only because of financial wrongdoing ....Klos, being paid on par with david beckham( even though much of his total was made up of image rights - klos` was not )..with no visible means to pay that total...not visible because it was deliberately kept invisible and another example of using financial wrongdoing to gain sporting advantage......which you were all happy to celebrate, maybe if there was a realistic acceptance of the level of wrongdoing - in fact , cheating - then there might be a bit more sympathy for the everyday fan.

As for your surprise at the apparent lack of concern over the rangers employees who might become redundant...I`d imagine it it must be hiding under the shadow of the dent made in services provided to society, including those people you are so concerned about, via the tax-funded public purse.

Whether it's the same club or a new club I can see no justification for beating the **** out of people who are blameless and that's what's happening now. It would be good if the SFA had shown the same zeal in pursuing Murray and Whyte. Unfortunately those hiding behind "sporting integrity" have shown naked hatred and it seems Regan/SFA are only too willing to appease them.

What the **** are you talking about?

YOU trusted people to run your club.
YOU allowed them to run it into the ground.
    YOU watched the club die.

Too late to pass the buck now.

RL, okay maybe I was beeing a bit tongue in cheek but if Hearts had been found guilty as you described I can't imagine the same level of hatred would have been directed at them nor the same clamour for punishment from other clubs' fans.

Because they would have been punished.
There wouldn't have to be a clamour.
