It's been asked a hundred times, but... Andy Carroll.

Apparently we've been told by LFC that Carroll will cost £17m...

Oh and that perhaps they don't now want Ben Arfa because of his injury record – and not because they stood ZERO chance of signing him.

NUFC could sign TWO international strikers with European experience on the continent for £17m and still have change to spare on Carroll's wages.

Gameiro and Bony would be just two examples.

So why pay more for one player who'll demand more each week and score less goals?

Mike Ashley wouldn't sanction that in a million years, it's a non-starter unless significantly UNDER £10m with huge wage cut from Carroll.

It's probably all lies, but I have read a few rumours (one from someone with a reasonably accurate track record) this morning that a deal to bring Carroll back has been wrapped up, straight cash and much less than £17m. Carroll said to have agreed significant wage cut.

Doubt it has truth in it but thought I'd share! Also thought West Ham had first option... Unless they have turned attention elsewhere (Bony?).
