It's been asked a hundred times, but... Andy Carroll.

Henderson is class and besides Gerrard been far and away the next best CM at Liverpool. Its no coinkydink that LFC form dropped when Brenton dropped JH for Allen for no reason whatsoever and then they win again when he's back in the team thanks to a class finish from him.

He's still not the finished article nor a £16m player but he has really come on this summer and if you ask any Liverpool supporter who actually goes and watches the games they'll agree. Most would be absolutely gutted if he went in the Summer now. Even Downing has improved a lot this season and shown to be a useful squaddie.

You can tell someones level of football knowledge outside their own team and how much other footy they watch by asking their opinion on Henderson this season. Anyone who has watched LFC and Eng U21s this year will now how much hes improved, and more importantly, how much his confidence has increased which was his biggest barrier by far. Kudos to Br on this one.

As for carroll, WHU already have an agreement in place that if they stay up, and Carroll agrees to the move, they will sign him for £17m, although I expect they will negotiate this down to £15m plus add-ons. Unless Carroll refuses this move no team has a hope in hell of getting him for less than £15m overall in total. He'll stay put before that happens.

Liverpool also really want HBA, and if he is up for the move, and a bigger club than Liverpool don't come in for him and turn his head, any Newcastle deal for Carroll will depend heavily on an offer for HBA being accepted by Ashley. No idea what price.

Re: Carroll specifically
I thought there was news Fat Sham said that there's no way West Ham would go out and pay for Carroll in the offseason already? The problem here is that Br doesn't want him at all. And with his price tag, how many teams out there actually want him, and would pay that large a fee for him?

The £17m was the price we and WHU agreed to if they buy him at the end of the season providing they stay up (they say they want to keep him but they won't buy him for £17M)

I'd be happy with 12M+, anything less then we may as well keep him as a plan B.

I think that is more realistic. 10-12m. You guys can't afford to write off too much but he hasn't done well enough (stayed fit enough) to justify anymore. Its all just a bit of gamesmanship from yourselves and West Ham. They'd like him so are trying to use the press to get his tag down. Liverpool don't want him but are trying to backtrack on previous comments to keep a strong hand so they can maximise their return. I think he'll either end up back at Newcastle for 10-12m. Or West Ham will be silly, offer more and Liverpool will try to force Carroll into a corner by refusing Newcastle's bid and warning him he'll be looking at bench time.

Either way I don't see him at Liverpool.

Liverpool got taken to the cleaners on Downing, Henderson and Carroll. All three are decent players though.

What we as Liverpool fans can hope for is a bidding war between you and WHU, unlikely I know but if you both want him then that will hopefully up the price to something more suited to us, don't want you lot ****ing us over again <laugh>

Serious question though, would you be willing to let go of either Cabaye or HBA as part of a deal for Carroll?

Haha! Surely t'other way round. Carroll and a bucket full of cash for either Cabs or HBA. However, do not want either to go not matter how much silly money is thrown at us.

That kind of reaction was expected I suppose.

Of course it was. Liverpool overpaid us £20M for Carroll (no, in fact I would say £25M) - since leaving us he has declined from a 10-15 million pound striker to a £7-9M striker. Cabs and HBA are both worth £20M+ each, maybe not in real terms but in terms of value to our team.

As for people saying that you won't get more than £10M for Carroll is a different story - I would argue that a lower mid table team could bid for him in the hope his stock comes good and Liverpool was a blip.

No. I actually think Cabaye will end up at Old Trafford in the summer.

If we bought Andy back off Liverpool with either HBA or Cabaye going the other way it would be the final victory of stupidity over common sense. This shall not and must not ever ****ing happen

Liverpool can take a flying **** off the white cliffs of Dover

You will be in the champ next season so I can't see why mandy would want to move to you unless you offered him an 8 year deal like you did with Pardew the ham.

One of 3 things will happen

1. Carroll will stay at LFC
2.If someone offers £10m LFC will accept, no less
3.LFC will speak to HBAs agent he will want the move, and NUFC will be happy to accept a swap deal for a player who is injured a lot and older anyway

Seriously though. I cant believe some of you would want him back, he pretty bad in fairness and you do have a good scout that could get a lot better than Carroll for the price you would pay for him.

I can't see Cabaye or HBA going to Liverpool more than likely they'll end up at Utd or Arsenal but I see a bigger threat coming from PSG or Monaco
