I can understand Portsmouth's fans being unhappy with the players, They are entitled to do it, but it's certainly questionable morality. The main problem is the football creditor rule. We can understand it when it's a league two player who needs to get paid to keep his mortgage going (although a lot of people have lost thier jobs because thier company has gone bust in the last 4 years, and nobody cares how they are going to pay thier mortgage), but when it's somebody who is on 30 grand a week it's natural to not have much sympathy. If the football league really want to enforce a football creditor rule, they should force all transfer fee's to be paid up front and make clubs prove that they can finance a players contract before they transfer his registration. Sadly thats never going to happen.
Why should all the moral burden be on the players? IMO, the fault for this rests entirely with PFC as a business.
http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/p...are-two-weeks-away-from-liquidation-1-4085152 Why should any Blues fan be happy with that threat over their heads, it is sad that some of our own posters keep lowering their responses to the saddo blue posters. Much as I dislike the Skates, some of the responses are OTT and some. I know some of it is in response to the vitriol that we received when we were in dire straits so they must have expected some stick but come on people give it a rest.
Yes it does stink St Godders. I honestly don't know what's got into their heads thinking they can abuse their own players in such a vile way. It's always been accepted in football circles that to dish out this type of abuse to Pompey is our job, and one that we are perfectly capable of doing on our own. We don't need any help from the soap dodgers down the road thanks very much.
Note the time Godds posted this thread. He's been rudely awakened by the Dastmen/carbuncle playing up/Mrs G's enhanced chore list. Maybe all three?
Your insightfullness is amazing. I am pleased we have had a couple of days of warmth as that has helped the arthritus a little. Four weeks ago I was warm and happy in my favourite holiday destination in Turkey then I came home to continual rain, cabin fever, a soggy garden, post holiday blues and aching joints causing sleepless nights and misery. Then this euthanasia thing started to look really attractive. No! no! Not for me but for Poor Old Pompey.
What makes it worse Pieking is that the people who are responsible for the mahoosive mess we are in have all done a runner and will loose nothing. We have a great chance to turn this club from a laughing stock into a respected, well run club in the PST. This is being hampered by these players. If you read the letter that was given to the senior high wage players this morning at training, we clearly state we don't blame the players for what has happened. But they are the ones putting the final nail in the coffin. P.S St Godders I didn't know you were the moral arbiter for all football fans. Obviously if you were in our situation you wouldn't lambaste the players that are just days from liquidating our club. What was it a minority of SFC fans sung to Rupert Lowe? Swing Lowe, swing Rupert lowe, Hang from the Itchen Bridge.
Let's not forget why they're called 'skates'. What do you expect from fish ****ers? Also Fratton Park backwards is 'krap? nottarf!'
Hermenator your fans have said the foulest, cruellest and most obscene things about your players I have ever read written by the fans of any football club. I would hope that the decent fans of Pompey would criticise them for such appalling behaviour. Instead you criticise me because I have moral standards. Saints fans, as you have pointed out, directed their venom at Lowe who was the cause of all the problems not at the players. Your fans have dumped all their moral principles and want to behave in the same way as your unscrupulous owners by not paying what is owed and argue that they are not to blame for what has happened. To quote you Dorothy Sayers: “Some people's blameless lives are to blame for a good deal.”
Your last paragraph is very generalising. Read my last post. The letter given to the players at training this morning clearly stated that "we don't blame the players for the situation we are in". Yet they are the ones stopping us from escaping from this position. Why do you think we are pissed off? You used to have some good stuff to write but today you just seem to have the character of a teenager who can't handle his drink. Spouting random bollocks and generalising what is said on a social networking sight to every Pompey fan. Grow up. Try putting yourself in our shoes.
How they enjoyed that 90th-minute equaliser... How I will enjoy watching AFC Portsmouth against Eastleigh at the Silverlake Stadium.
I won't insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you have written. My final paragraph was a reference to your fans and not the players.
