Laudrup sunk himself , being loyal , when he committed guickly to the 2nd season to hold everyone in place . Its funny to watch people try to belittle Laudrup after him doing this for our sake . Positions were filled when he showed no interest outside of Swansea after his first season with us and Jenkins stripped him of a bit of dignity in some clubs eyes the way he was dismissed .

He probably committed because no-one else wanted him.

Fair to say that we as a club were just as responsible for that as he was. He was good enough for the club to want him to extend his contract, thus protecting us and giving us a big pay day , in hindsight its one of them where everyone involved could and should have done better, laudrup, board room senior players and spanish players.

All of that has go spores against laudrup and us so nobody has won out on this one im afraid to say.

The moment any manager doesnt have full backing is the moment his arse is on the line, its happened to many better managers than laudrup. What swansea had was a great chance to manage his short comings while maintaing a global profile that ensured we wouød be attractive to top players, now we need to throw cash at it like everyone Else and swansea Arnt a club for that type of thing.

Its monks show now and we Will live or die by what he does.

Laudrup was planning to leave anyway, so we'd still be in the same position now. He left a little earlier then planned. Some talk as if he would have stayed for years. In all likelihood he would have left at the end of last season. Then we'd have had Monk, which is who we have now.

    Quite right too Plastic. <ok>

Can't believe this is still going on <doh>

Players who want to go, bye bye. Players who want to stay, then play, simple as that.

Looking forward to next season immensely

Just think, only ten years ago we lost our opening game 0-2 against Northampton Town yet ended up with promotion, finishing 3rd. Thus began our unique, rags to riches Odyssey.

The recreants should try to re-focus their own ten minute memories and meditate on the Gospel of our journey. That's the only fact anyone, everyone, truly knows, our clubs rags to riches epic, which began with the above game.

In the scheme of our great adventure of the last 10-11 years laudrup had a walk on part, nothing more.

Laudrup took control of our team his first season , won the league cup , got us into Europa and had 40 points in league with 10 games remining .He added , Michu , Poz and Chico to the club or about 4 million . He took Routledge from nothing to greatness when Wayne was going nowhere quick . That summer Laudrup could have gone elsewhere without problem , but he tried to keep our dream alive the 2nd season , but he hit a nightmare called Jenkins . Since Laudrup left people want to go , and you have to pay big to attract anyone .

Other than Michu and Pablo who wants to leave roof?

Can't be all bad considering JDG wanted to come back and might still come back.

    It suits the agenda....

but, even if it were true, why waste £2- £4m on paying him off a few months early and upset half the squad?

Ki , Poz , Bony has his people hunting a new team , Davies and or Taylor . Still waiting on a quiet Shelevy , his could come quick and decisive although I hope not . ! All based off of his tweets when Laudrup was sacked , Vorm will probably go , Chico is a 50 -50 ...lets wait till the window closes valley then count the casualties .

After months of threads and tons of posts ............. 3 words for the last half of last season ...." Huw blew it " . We will never get that "missing " half a season back . Where we dumped all our Cup hopes , along with Laudrup , out in the wash and concentrated on almost getting relegated except for some good luck and uninterested opponents our last few games . It's not that Jenkins blew it , it's the timing . Could have been a different outcome , at our most historic " One in a hundred " year times. When some say we would have got relegated , I say we could have done better in both cups and more points in the Premier if Laudrup was left alone . A lot of players will feel the same and feel little loyalty to who was responsible.

Trouble in the camp? I don't see much sign of it on the USA tour. The Spanish players who are leaving did not perform for us last season the ones who did perform are in the USA. KI did not play for us at all. So no great loss . Every club gets rid of its dead wood during the close season and we have already signed some replacements and hopefully will sign a few more.

People do tend to see things differently and I prefer players who are consistent. Pablo created some moments of magic, gave the ball away cheaply too often, was injured a lot of the time and was defensively poor because he was not strong enough physically. Therefore he was inconsistent.

Hernandez had a great season last year. I will give you he is far to light weight. But the reason he gives the ball away occasionally is he is actually passing forward and trying to split defnces and not just sideways. But you are right it is all about opinons. As for being injured he actually played 35 times last year not bad for someone who is injured a lot.

I don't see him as that big a loss if we sign Montero and say Gylfi. The bigger worry for me would be someone like Routs going. If Pablo wants to go play in the sand let him go. Doesn't say much about his desire abd ambition.

I've read somewhere that Montero ain't coming and even clubs like West Ham are signing some good players (Valencia today for example). Would like Gylfi but am sceptical. Let's face it apart from Gomis our signings so far haven't been that inspiring, particularly as we're all bracing ourselves for the departures of Davies, Hernandez, Michu and probably Bony. Huge losses imo.
