Actually Barcs it doesn't bother me not drinking and my bank balance is definitely better.

Tablets I take, down to 22 from 26, for heart failure, arrhythmia and COPD and an injection for diabetes have gradually got me off drink as they have affected my taste buds and the effects a couple of days later, feel like I have flu, make me think it isn't worth It. Only been for a drink 3 times since September. I am
OK with 2 or or 3 but I would rather have none. I feel a lot better but the problem is when I feel good is when
I think I should be going out. The wife says if I had been on these tablets when I was in my thirties we could have had a villa abroad to spend the winters in.

So anyway, I was feeling unnaturally tired a couple of weeks ago. Not poorly, just really sleepy, even at work. I'm not one for going to the Doctor (an actual Dr, obvs), but I could tell I wasn't right.

So along with a few other tests, the nurse did my bloods. They rang me at work today to ask me to go back and get further bloods. Apparently the bloods showed ALT. WTF is that? I cried.

As it turns out, my liver could be in some sort of bother (I hate liver. Iv'e never eaten it, but I know It's disgusting) and now it seems my liver hates me.

Now everybody knows you shouldn't google medical, so I thought I'd be off better asking my cyber buddies on here.

Quite worried if I'm honest. I do drink way too much...
Cut the beer mate it's nice but not worth it if it causes il health

Chicken Breast & Fish
Lower carbs & sugars
Greens, sprouts, broccoli
Eggs, lentils, beans, asparagus, chickpeas, nuts & peas.

Maybe not all in one sitting.

Eat a lot of those nowadays. With the right herbs and spices you can make some tasty, helalthy meals which are cheaper than junk foods and takeaways. Though still partial to a nice steak.

I'd stop drinking immediately as the liver can repair itself if given chance. Then take the medical advice given.

Although GP's know more about the human body and how to treat illnesses than we will ever know, they typically know very little to nothing about nutrition, curing and healthy living. It's simply not what they are taught; that's the unfortunately fact. There are of course exceptions.
You likely know what you should and shouldn't be doing. Nearly all of us do. But doing it consistently is a different matter.
Cut out the alcohol (and smoking of course).
Slow down, take time for yourself, sensible exercise, fresh air, sufficient sleep.
Drink lots of water.
Cut out processed food, including meat.
Cut out meat near enough altogether.
Replace with loads of fruit, salad, veg, especially greens. Add potatoes, beans and the like. Ideally organic if you can manage it. (Don't worry for one second about protein and carb myths - when did anyone last die of protein deficiency - these foods have everything we need).
Buy yourself a juicer and a Nutribullet and get into using them big style.
Some say 'but I enjoy eating (crap) blah blah'. Believe me, you can have some wonderful food and drink from the above.
Good luck.

I’ve no idea what your liver problem is, but at least try cutting down for a bit and give your liver a chance.
If you need a proper reason to cut down then pin your ears back...if you die the day before the Allams **** off you'd never forgive your dead self

Just focus on outliving those ****s
Kemps never touched a drop until these ****ers started ****ing about with the club.... take it easy ..

Hope you’re alright, Kemp.

My dad has something going on with his liver. Docs told him to drink less and not move around eating (he always has working lunches). Not sure how the latter helps. He was sleeping a lot, often tired.

Definitely avoid Google. Two clicks away from being told your arm will fall off or your head explode.

Exactly this. My Mrs will have a splinter or something else non serious and by the time she’s googled it she’s got some form of serious illness.

Nutribullet - that was the last must have accessory wanted by Mrs GLP 3 years ago. It’s still in the box in the cupboard.

That's a real shame.
Maybe donate it to Kemps.
I use mine every day (more than once). Easy way of getting veg, fruit, nutrients that we all need. I love it.

I just eat loads of veg/salad anyway. Started cycling regularly last summer and covered 2,000 km over a 3 month period. A great way to exercise and towards the end of the Summer it wasn’t feeling like a chore - it was genuinely enjoyable. Low impact on knee and ankle joints and I lost about 2.5 stone.

Just having a new road bike built as we speak so I can go quicker <laugh> Strava is a terrible incentive <laugh>

Kemps won't be doing one anytime soon if he does as he's told. You take care mate

Top guy on here too. <cheers> whoops sorry don't look at the beer.

Seconded. Nurse HT here to offer words of wisdom! Follow your good docs orders, do as you’re told, and you’ll be right, we all know doctors are men of their words, well, the real ones obvs.

Best wishes, you can’t go anywhere Kemps, this board needs you!
