This man simply does not get the credit he deserves.

On Thursday night, Jordan Pickford set a new Three Lions record: the most consecutive clean sheets for England. Surpassing Gordon Banks' previous record of seven, the Everton shot-stopper now has eight in a row and has not conceded a goal between the national sticks for almost a year. As for the ever-presence, reliability and consistency he boasts, it's not spoken about enough.

Not only did he provide big stops when called upon v Wales to see the record over the line, but he's done it when the stakes are much higher too. Penalty heroics in major tournaments vs Switzerland and Colombia. Game-changing saves vs Germany in Euro 2020. In 2018, 2021 and 2024, England could have easily headed for early exits, if it wasn't for JP.

Never making a blunder for the team too, it's a priceless value for a national team keeper playing at the most intense level of football. We've seen far too many of those blunders, but not with Pickford.

79 senior caps on, he needs his flowers.

He might, finally, be getting the credit he deserves. He's been excellent for England and made less mistakes than other high profile keepers. But ever since he first became England's no 1 he's had people trying to strip him of the jersey, not just fans of other teams/rivals, but the media as well. Maybe now they are accepting that he's actually a very good goalkeeper and the best we have available at the minute.

I fecking hate the international break. Theres one next month aswell apparently ffs .

The only thing its good for is giving any injured players like Mundle an extra 2 weeks to recover without missing any games.

They're awful when we’re doing badly …

… worse when we’re doing well with a winnable home match coming up.

I remember when i used to be really passionate about England. Feels like a distant memory now.

When Tuchel was given the opportunity to manage them i half expected to get some of the passion back again until I saw he was no different to Southgate and other previous managers picking the likes of Jordan Henderson and leaving out younger players that are our future that blatantly deserve to represent their country based from their club form. Wharton and Anderson should have been playing for England ages ago, theyve only just started getting regular call ups.

No one near Pickford's level IMO.

And how many times has he cost England goals with a mistake. Once, ****ing once, and only now is he starting to get any credit. He’s top class and still has years ahead of him.
