So if Costa Rica beat the USA of America 10-0 tonight, that would mean Costa Rica automatically qualify why the USA of America get dumped into a playoff with (presumably) new Zealand It's almost as if I'm hoping for a freak series of results that allows me to say that Lord of the Rings qualified for the World Cup at Star Wars' expense or something...
Ben Davies came back early, although that was more due to burnout So expect Romero to come back with a broken toe after kicking his hotel room door after realising his flight out to Argentina was a waste of time...
Alfie Devine opens the scoring and takes the corner for England's 3rd v Armenia. He also won the penalty from Scarlett's pass for the striker's 2nd against Portugal.
Of course, we've since seen a whole bunch of bad faith arguments about how neither the club nor Harry Kane stood up for Ndombele when he was booed off against Morecambe
Senegal v Egypt highlights: The lasers were constant. They even lit up Salah when they were lining up at the start.
The Egyptian should have refused to take the pens until the lasers were stopped , players are used to crowd noise but this takes it to a new level
One of the consequences of players winning HUGE paydays and some players constantly cheating or throwing strops or not putting in the effort is that fans EXPECT a certain level of performance and if they don't see it will make their feelings known. Players have removed themselves from working fans, placing themselves as performers and entertainers. Jimmy Greaves was just a working man with a decent income that by the end of his career had grown to being very well paid. Today PL players income bears no relationship with working people comparing as it does with film stars. Add to that players loyalty being bought and sold and you should not be surprised when fans react. The peoples game has been hi jacked by money, do not expect respect.
Rightly or wrongly you’re correct, and I can see why Man U fans would be disappointed in Maguire. To be booed by England fans is baffling though. He has rarely put a foot wrong for his country, has been an important part of the most successful (and frankly likeable) team for decades, and not long ago was a cult figure. I absolutely cannot fathom why he got the reaction he did from fans of the national team.
Most from that part of the world lean towards Chelsea tbh, I grew up there and that was my experience at least. Granted given my age, the arrival of Uncle Roman coincided with the time when people start to get drawn into these things, so perhaps more understandable. I would have said amongst the kids I grew up with, Chelsea was the most followed London club, and then Liverpool outside that. I have since met a fair few United fans from the South though, always with some tenuous connection to Manchester and with a second, more local lower league club they actually watch more regularly. Regardless, fans should leave club affiliation at the door when it comes to the national team. One thing I think this generation of players has done well is break down the old club cliques that existed pre-Southgate. Ironically I feel like fans have gone the other direction just as the players have become more of a unit. I have no problem cheering Saka or Mount in an England shirt. Judas was always the exception of course, but he’s just a **** human being, and deserves nothing but contempt.

I'm puzzled as to who else would be booing him, to be honest. Leeds fans and Liverpool, I guess. Wouldn't have thought most of them would bother, though. Have I missed something? Greek police officers and Albanian gangsters probably weren't there in large numbers.
There are a lot of Greek Cypriots in North London Mostly Arsenal and some Spurs. They would have two reasons to boo.
