I tried to find an article the other day written by Mike Hackett former referee supremo. He was interviewed on talk Sport H&J.. He says that other than Clattenburg and one or two others the referees are a disgrace. Apparently there are 17 roster Premier league referees, but only 7 should be used!!!.. there isn't even a panel who review referees performances now and the people overturning cards haven't ever refereed... He was advocating using International level foreign referees, no bias.. seemingly there are plenty available.

Nobody likes Mike Dean probably because he looks like one of those arsey PE teachers who don't look that sporty and were probably just good at long distance running..
I saw the article. Wasn't it that four of them were underperforming and shouldn't be used in the PL and then only 7 (with Clattenberg statistically out in front) that should. The others needed to improve.
It's disgraceful isn't it.
Nothing ruin contests more than over zealous red cards. Then you factor in the price it can cost to attend matches these days, the price of Sky & BT subscriptions, the cost to relegated teams...too much money wasted on refs who decide on a whim to ruin it.

One of my mates in Edmonton has just been blocked by Mike Dean on Twitter, it wasn't the ref though, I guess been a prick and having no sense of humour runs in the name!

Roger East is the one I can't understand how he still refs in the PL. Every game is an absolute farce from him.
Is there a stat which shows how many points those teams lost after Dean incorrectly sent a player off?
If they were ex refs they'd just close ranks much of the time and back the referee's decision. Maybe it's better without refs on these committees.
The bloke is an absolute clown. That record for rescinded red cards is unacceptable for a referee at any level, let alone someone who is refereeing in the Premier League.
