We've signed20 year old striker Charles Hagan following his release by Sheffield Wednesday, another one for the development squad i presume, now where is our new keeper?
Certainly signed a lot for the development squad. It does seem like the best long term plan if we can get 1 or 2 first teamers out of it a season.
Goalkeeper @MaxStryjek is the new number 1 at Adams Park, joining the Blues from Scottish Premier League side Livingston, we are delighted to announce. #Chairboys
Max Stryjek is the new number 1 at Wycombe Wanderers, joining the Blues from Scottish Premier League side Livingston, the club are delighted to announce. The 26-year-old was a regular in the top flight in Scotland last season, having previously spent five years in England with Sunderland and Eastleigh, also spending time on loan at Boston United and Accrington Stanley. Born in Poland, the commanding 6’2” keeper signed for Polonia Warsaw at the age of 11 and went on to represent his country at youth level from under-17 to under-19. Highly rated during his time in the youth setup at Sunderland, Stryjek never made a first-team appearance but developed his game on loan at Eastleigh, making his move permanent prior to his switch to Livingston. His eight clean sheets and 70.5% save percentage helped Livi secure a seventh-placed finish last season and he now links up with the Wanderers squad ahead of their trip to Barnsley on Saturday, taking part in his first training session on Thursday after passing a medical earlier this week. Max’s transfer is subject to international clearance and EFL approval.
Let’s start a small discussion on who we would like on transfer deadline day. Depending on recovery time, cover for Vokes. Maybe another left back as JJ may have lost his legs. Midfield fine. If Taff stays them centre back is fine.
A lot depends on how good these youngsters are and how soon they could be ready for the step up. Haaland should secure promotion as long as we don't concede half a dozen goals every game. We seem to be scoring from all over the place, which is good. Although an out and out striker would be great, someone who is a major threat in the air, pacey and ability to take on defences, the ability to score from anywhere does reduce our dependence on a goal scorer. How are we dealing defending free kicks and corners? Are our defenders vulnerable against pacey wingers?
The summer window will officially shut at 11pm on Thursday, September 1, and the 49-year-old hinted that ‘one or two’ new players could walk through the Adams Park doors at the start of next month. However, one of these players will NOT be former Chelsea attacking midfielder, Ross Barkley. Speaking after Wanderers' Football League Trophy fixture against Tottenham Hotspur Under 21s on August 30, the boss chuckled before saying: “There is no Ross Barkley, believe me.
Whilst Haaland would be a good signing I think he would soon get upset sat on the bench behind Vokes.
Well, we signed no one but I think we can still add unattached players and loan signings. Nottingham Forest must surely have so many players surplus to requirement.
Ross Barkley signs for, wait for it ...........................................................................................
