I agree with you 100%. You have every right not to be treated like a thug, an animal, or worse, like a Millwall fan. But Saturday was an example of what happens when muggy, plastic wannabes, light flares, smash seats and generally give it large on websites. The police read these sites and from this and the last match categorise the match, they gave this game high risk and as such all powers and responsibility was taken away from cafc and taken on by the police. The club have no say, or indeed, would be criminally and civil liable if they refused to take on board the recommendations for policing, safety, kick off, and train times. The police then can charge the club for the extra policing safe in the knowledge that by inconveniencing as many people as possible, the threat of violence is reduced and they won't have to answer the moans, it will be the club, they did there job well.. The cops bully the club into going along with anything it's decides, so as far as cafc were concerned they were coerced into making these seemingly strange decisions. It's like if a lion escapes from the zoo you don't let the locals out their homes until the lion is shot or caught. Same principle.

Don't blame the board, blame the new breed of tossers at cafc that light flares, wear skinny jeans with George formby haircuts. Millwall of course are just scumbags who can't be helped.

I agree with Typical and thought the entire policing operation was sensible and a complete success. I didn't see a single person injured, no disorder when leaving the ground and only minor skirmishes when some away fans entered the North West thanks to I imagine some Home fans selling the tickets to Away fans and you can hardly blame the club for this.

And what an over-reaction, the game kicked off early and 25 minutes is not very long to wait behind and I was entirely comfortable with it. I felt sorry for some of the stewards who were getting abuse from a mouthy fan in the North Stand but they deserve more support in that role. I would rather get home safely and suffer some minor inconvenience than be caught up in trouble between opposing groups of fans and there is the potential for disorder in the narrow streets leaving the Valley despite what some might say.

And throwing a flare and ripping up/throwing seats onto the pitch could result in serious injury - hardly a joke when there were some numbers involved. In fact I did not observe any trouble from the Away fans in the JS Stand - to their credit, I expect some of these attacks on the club and police are because we lost which smacks of sour grapes.

So well done to the Board, Club and Police for the security measures they took to keep fans safe.

There wasn't any trouble from our lot - no seats were ripped up, no flares thrown, and we didn't spoil the minutes silence like some in the home end did!!

Usually takes me 2-3 hours to get home from the Valley - yesterday it took 1 hour 20 mins - much appreciated <ok>

No because most of your chants seemed to support your team and players eg ****tu rather than hurl abuse at the opposition, something the North Stand should take note of. I missed the minute's silence and arrived just before kick-off.

I think everyone missed the minutes silence. More to do with the fact that there wasn't one...

The jimmy Mizen dedication was ruined by some right planks in the north upper and much to my embarrassment Millwall were perfectly well behaved. No wonder we had to wait behind after the game.

My wife and I I had the great mis-fortune of having to sit in the 'home end' on Saturday.
We were in North D lower....I can honestly say that I have never felt more intimidated at a football ground. My missus had to physically restrain me from turning round and giving a woman sat behind me a piece of my mind...I've never heard such drivel and childish nonsense..... and why do you think we are 'scum' I'm related to the home supporter that got me the tickets - same family same upbringing! My father-in-law was a lifelong season ticket holder at Chalton till the day he died!

After we scored the first goal - it all kicked off behind us - what a bunch of nutters.....Don't you lot ever have the temerity again to say that the Lions supporters are 'violent and abusive - You bunch of tossers want to start supporting your team instesd of trying to slag off the away supporters!

Anyway thanks for the 3 points - and I hope your home form continues as it has all season - you bunch of ****ers deserve all you get!

Oh and by the way - I enjoyed the early walk back up to Charlton Village where I had a lovely parking spot - and listening to all the drivel being spouted by a load of train spotters - (sorry forgot - the police wouldn't let you near the station - probably what upset you most!)

I wouldn't like anyone to be around if I suggested to my wife that she accompanied my to a local Derby at The New Den. Oh and by the way we're in the middle of Millwall fans.

I couldn't give a toss what you and your Millwall buddies think ... As for being intimidated at the valley bit rich coming from a Millwall fan that is who revel in intimidating the away fans.
It works both ways I travelled to the game via london bridge accompanied by Chavy Millwall Burberry clad twats drinking beer and intimidating abusing the public who weren't even going to the match .
Well done for winning see you next season.

Out of interest Tommylion, was she abusing you or people you were with, or simply hurling it on to the pitch? I've got to say there probably is'nt a ground you can go to (going down into the Ryman and beyond) where you won't hear that sort of thing, and while I'm not defending it, it's part and parcel of the game. One of the reasons for segregation is that a lot of people tend to find their blood boiling when hearing their team under that sort of attack. Another thing is if she was having a go at you personally. Either way, I admire your bollox for going in the Charlton end for one of these ties, as I certainly would'nt do that at the Den.

That's what happens when footie clubs 'split families' I cant be the only bloke on earth that has an extended family that shares their loyalty between the two clubs!...but I've been doing this for years...Always used to go to the Valley with my father in law.....what happened, Charlton always used to be quite a friendly place...but now seems to be filled with one brain celled prats!

Perhaps the way your team are playing after last years league one performances might mitigate some of the crap! Welcome to the Championship!

generalising a bit too far there mate... wasn't it the 3000 millwall fans who got frog marched to the train station through fear of what they'd do if they had to stand around with nothing to entertain them for the 10 mins they should've got kept behind?

perhaps years of interbreeding between millwall fans have resulted in 3000 odd "cant be trusted" zombie like zero brain celled prats?

obviously I know this is all wrong, I work with quite a few millwall fans and we have good banter. they're just people like us. I just don't like it when people like you and typical disagree and name call for the sake of it.

At last season's game at Millwall a friend of mine was walking out after the game with other Charlton fans and there was an elderly lady standing facing them saying " Charlton fans are ****s they're all a bunch of ****s" over and over again. nearby were a bunch of heavies waiting for anyone to say something in reply. Nice.
