I would absolutely love Leicester to win the title, from where they were a year ago it would be truly zero to hero stuff. For those old enough to remember it is Roy of the Rovers stuff, a quality hard working team with a spectacular centre forward.

I don't know Roy of the Rovers but do remember Limp along Leslie in the Wizard comic!

Leicester don't have to contend with kidnappings, wars, solving the problem international diamond smuggling rings before every game like Roy and the rest of the team did. No mid table stuff for them either. Nails biting Championship or relegation battles every season. Was well known enough to feature on a GPO stamp. The phrase Roy Of The Rovers stuff has become widely used to describe some unexpected triumph.
Of course it was good, what else would you expect in a comic named The Tiger?

Does anyone know what odds they were for the title at the beginning of the season? Am assuming it would have been 100s if not 1000-1 so as well as the best thing to happen in the Premier League could also be one of the most unlikely. Even a top 4 finish would have been ridiculous odds.

Pretty sure it would have been $1001.

Used to,work, with a big Leicester fan who used to put £20 on them winning the league, whatever division they were in, every season. Hope he carried on with it. Might make up for him getting a Keith Weller (a great player BTW) tattoo and Weller then promptly leaving to play in the USA.

Two wins in three seasons potentially!

They were 5,000-1 at start of season.

They were 1000/1 to be top at christmas and 5000/1 to win the title. There is a bloke in Leicester who put £5 on each, he is already £5000 up!

I think Leicester are more the John Prescott of football. You can't believe they've got where they are but they are thriving.

I sort of agree but if Leicester win this year it'll feel more like the big boys were **** this year.
I'd rather a team like Spurs or Everton won, that would feel more like the hard work paid off, giving chance to young players and taking punts. Leicester would feel like a total fluke. Because it has come out of nowhere. it wouldn't turn the tide and change the landscape for the future because it's one off. Whereas a win by teams that have often done a good job, consistently but come short and finished 6/7/8th would prove more that their strategy is finally paying off.

Which young players do Everton take a punt on? Hardly more than Arsenal or United do, really..

So no credit for the scouting system which identified players and enabled Leicester to,achieve with what they have done with a squad which cost less to assemble than ours?
