I have now watched the video. Maybe you think that some of these people are soft. Maybe previous generations did have to be tougher than the current one. To a large extent, I would agree that society is too soft. However, bullying happened in the past too and as this video was produced to support kids who have been bullied, you have completely missed the point. I have to agree with Clocky that you seem to be on a wind up or trying to provoke an argument. Anyone who criticises teachers clearly doesn't have a clue what they're talking about and really needs to educate themselves on what the profession is like nowadays.

I was at school when I witnessed the decline of respect for teachers coming into the profession (around '64), as they came across as wets (certainly scruffier than those from the 'old school' - far more casual & less demanding), wishing to become 'friends' with the pupils, rather than individuals whose role was to teach them to achieve results in examinations and life, whilst not accepting anything that conflicted with that approach.
Prior to this there were never any thoughts about showing teachers any disrespect, the new breed quickly put a stop to that way of thinking - they were openly derided!
