If you have the money, you have to question why FSG failed to offer the extra 2m or so to get Dempsey - a player who you could have really done with...?

and why they were offering something utterly ridiculous in this day and age, £25k pw according to reports, for a proven prem player (gylfi)

Dont get me wrong, i dont understand what happenned at the end of transfer window, but im not all that bothered. We have a wealth of young players who ordinairily dont develop to their potential as we always play experience over youth. Now we have the opportunity to play our youth and im happy about it.

I dont know that FSG will get theri money out, but there is plenty of it and I have to believe that they will should a player who meets their criteria come along. personally, i think they are looking to use the talented youth to get us back into the champions league and will spend money then to try and keep us there.

The question is of course will our youth be good enough to get us back there. This season, I dont think so..........Next season? if the likes of Sterling, Suso and Shelvey continue to develop and we can keep the spine of our team: Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Allen and Suarez injury free, then Ci could certainly see us competing for top 4 next year....

All speculation and lots of ifs and buts.....there is still lots to be excited about as a Liverpool fan though, which is something quite a few of the muppets on your board fail to spot

Completely agree my friend, my fellow Spurs fans haven't cottoned on to how great it would be to visit such atmospheric grounds as Selhurst park, Elland Road and the Valley next year.

I am so jealous that you will be living the dream whilst all we have to look forward too is another European tour. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Blimey - this begins to sound like Ars*n*l - haven't their magnificent crop of youngsters been going to win them everything for the last umpteen years?

It's curious the joy people seem to get out of us doing badly.

Anyway, I think the owners will spend in January, if even because of the explosion of criticism on the 1st of September.

You'll never get into the champions league.

Reina...error prone now.
Agger...misses more games than he plays, a proper sicknote.
Sterling...has he scored yet?
Shelvey...a donkey better to suited to the Championship he came from, though I must say a donkey is better looking...one for the ladies he ain't!
Allen...never a top teams midfielder in a million years.
Suarez...a bucktooth joke of a forward who attracts more controversy in a game than scores goals.

The only excitement to possibly get from that lot, is to see that shower of mediocrity replaced!

Sicknote implies that Agger gets small injuries or has a bad attitude - not his fault he breaks bones etc (like last season - he hardly broke his ribs on purpose).

Sterling - You're just desperate to criticise him. If Spurs signed him you'd love it.

Shelvey will be a decent squad player for the next five years plus.

Allen has been shining amid poor performances so far and will only get better. Watch the games!

Don't give a damn about Suarez's teeth - pretty poor 'banter' that - what does it matter? He does attract too much controversy, obviously. But again, if he signed for Spurs on the first of January you'd be singing a different tune.
