Our current manager divides opinion on the boards. Looking around the Championship, is there a manager that you would prefer to have? IMO there are precious few who I would regard as an improvement on Mr Pearson. Here are the current odds for the next Championship manager to be sacked. Dean Saunders isn't in the list, nor for some reason is Sean Dyche at Watford:

5/1 – Steve McClaren (Nottingham Forest)
5/1 – Simon Grayson (Leeds United)
6/1 – Sven Goran Eriksson (Leicester)
7/1 – Keith Millen (Bristol City)
8/1 – Andy Thorn (Coventry)
10/1 – Paul Jewell (Ipswich)
12/1 – Eddie Howe (Burnley)
14/1 – Keith Hill (Barnsley)
20/1 – Chris Hughton (Birmingha*m City)
20/1 – Brian McDermott (Reading)
20/1 – Dougie Freedman (C.Palace)
20/1 – Darren Ferguson (Peterborough)
20/1 – Malky Mackay (Cardiff City)
25/1 – Nigel Pearson (Hull City)
25/1 – Ian Holloway (Blackpool)
25/1 – Steve Cotterill (Portsmouth)
25/1 – Nigel Clough (Derby)
25/1 – Sam Allardyce (West Ham)
25/1 – Tony Mowbray (Middlesbrough)
25/1 – Kenny Jackett (Millwall)
50/1 – Gus Poyet (Brighton & HA)
50/1 – Nigel Adkins (Southampton)

Its not an awe inspiring list, is it? On that list possibly only Adkins and Poyet stand out for their recent successes.

I am more than happy with NP at the moment and I've changed my tune from the start of the season when I thought NP made some herendous decisions including team selections, formations and substitutions but now feel we've turned a bit of a corner from when he played Fryatt up front on his own against Palace.

Think the only one I would take if NP was not at our club would the funny man, true great.... Ian Holloway. Top bloke, great manager, oh and maybe Nigel Adkins.

I would'nt go with Poyet, he's barely got any management experience and you just watch Brighton start to drop down the league now their 100% winning form at home came to a halt last night.

Can't believe this debate is still happening! We are 6th in the league!!!

Wow... Steady on westhulltiger, NP is going nowhere fast and nobody wants him to Its a bit of fun. I am sure there is no malice intended.

I think its a fair debate, nothing wrong with Oregon Tigers post.

NP divides opinions between the City faithful but you cannot argue with our league position

The question is simple "If not Pearson" .That doesn't mean everyone who answers wants Pearson out <ok>

Oregon Tiger is just comparing NP to his Championship rivals to highlight what a good manager he is.
I'm just waiting for Percy's predictable 'all of them' response...yawn.

Reading the original post, yes maybe I was a bit hasty thinking that we were discussing who should replace Nigel! In NP we trust

Don't want rid of NP but I would go for Ian Holloway very good manager and comes out with some great stuff

"To put it in gentleman's terms if you've been out for a night and you're looking for a young lady and you pull one, some weeks they're good looking and some weeks they're not the best. Our performance today would have been not the best looking bird but at least we got her in the taxi. She wasn't the best looking lady we ended up taking home but she was very pleasant and very nice, so thanks very much, let's have a coffee"
- on the "ugly" win against Chesterfield.

<laugh>

I'd take Hughton, Mowbray or Jewell.

Although Mowbray's voice would do my head in <laugh>

Again, this is not to say that I want Pearson out, as half the people on this thread need to understand.

This was my point, perhaps not very well explained. I am definitely in the pro-Pearson camp and I was trying to point out that there are few, if any, better in this league.
