Maybe I'm being a blinkered... or over-optimistic, but surely for Bas to make any kind of profit, we need to have value as a club - so running cost-efficient, be competitive and certainly not dropping down divisions.
We all know there was going to be player sales before Bas came in. The board knew it, Malky knew it and us fans knew it - so nothing has changed. We were just fortunate enough to have a 'golden egg' in graham which ensured the players sales should be kept to a minimum!
For us to stay competitive, the squas needs reinvestment to replace and improve. Bas has come out with the right 'sound bites', so proof will be once the signings start coming in.
At the end of the day, if in 5 (maybe even 4) years we are still at least a competitive Championship side, still have our Academy with a steady flow of youngsters coming through, and are debt free then I will say he has done a good job and won't mind him taking a little profit for himself!
