Unlike a host of Cardiff and other fans, yes we've heard of Tisdale, Ronnie Moore, Graham Westley. I think this is acknowledgement by most of football that we are now a League 1 club.

It is true that one side of our ground looks like non league, and we have the finances of mid table League 1, but I thought we were still in the Championship!

You are probably right Elixir but it might also be because others see us as a development club who produce good players from youth/lower leagues and decent managers from unknowns/lower leagues!
 
Or maybe it's because, like players, we cannot afford to bring in established people. We are and generally have been a club that develops 'their own'. When has bringing in a big name ever worked for us? Vialli? Ellington?

Give me a GT over Vialli anyday

Damn, you can't barr them. All but Dowie have a Watford connection. Dave Bassett bid £1m for Vinnie Jones in October 1987!!!
