In any event, Delap might want to stay at our amazing club, if we manage to stay up!

    .....big if.

Even if we stuffed today Gaffer, we are still within touching distance of everton in 15th place.
    We are not adrift yet.

The Delap buy-back clause - if true - is annoying. But as ristac says, a “Big Six” selling club has a fair bit of power enforcing these types of clauses. It’s how they make money and can purchase back talent - the Palmer deal with Chelsea probably stung Man City a bit. Apparently the buy-back fee more than £30m, but it’s frustrating if his market value is sitting at £40m plus.

Probably worth pointing out I don’t think many of us expected Delap to put in these types of performances and score so many goals. I was convinced he’d be a squad player and that we were looking for an additional centre-forward signing in the summer.

Omari now out for weeks, which is a huge blow.
Hopefully we can get 2 or 3 in, in the transfer window to help us out a bit.
    Definitely need both a 9 and a 10 in

We have signed Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta, can he play up front?

Omari not out long term according to kmc. We have the cup next week so could be back against Brighton? Definitely need a striker - Ali not up to this level at this stage of his career

Ignore that, just seen news conference as he is out for longer. Is Philogene a natural replacement?

The idea of trying to sign Ogbene and Philogene is to have more than one flair player in the side so they can play off each other.

Apparently happened in the 1st training session after the Chelsea game. It’s the sheer effort of premier league football that’s causing the injuries - Omari has played almost all minutes this season. He came off at 1/2 time against Newcastle but that’s about it

Whilst he'll be a huge blow, the pleasing thing about yesterday was I didn't feel we missed him as much as I was expecting.

However bad we think things are now just scroll back through this thread to remember the dark, dark days of our relegation to the third division and subsequent struggle to escape it,(I'm sure I've blocked a lot of it to protect my mental health!)

PS I really can't believe I started this thread concerned about an injury to Cole Skuse!!!

skuse, Douglas &Hyam - there was a midfield trio to strike fear into opposition defences. They must have scored 10 goals between them in their careers

If I was going to piss on your chips - getting relegated would be a huge step backward and in a few years we could be back in the doldrums. There are no guarantees we would bounce straight back up. We have to do everything to stay in the top flight this season so we can keep moving forward.

That is why it’s so frustrating to play so well and then give away a stupid penalty. Without so many of the silly mistakes we’d be in the top half and comfortable.

I absolutely agree, such fine margins between success and instant return to the Championship. The big contrast looking back though was the total despondency with the Club from top to bottom.

Confirmed Burns out for the season.
I know we've had issues in the past with injuries, but this season has gone crazy.
We must be in the top 2 or 3 for the most injuries this season.

We cropped up on Talk sport regarding tottenham s injury list. We are second in that league table for days lost to injuries in the Premier League. Bl**dy awful to be honest.
