Via 2nd mate... convenient deliberate memory blank you've included there. It might have been anomalous in ways but it still actually happened
Does make me laugh, that Saints fans come on here (regularly) to make comments.....usually with bitter intent. If they can't see the meteoric difference between playing for Liverpool and Southampton (even after a good couple of seasons) they're a bit odd in the head. If I was Clyne (for example) I'd jump at the chance to play for Liverpool, rather staying at Southampton. Yeah there was only a couple of points in it, but you look at other factors and Liverpool has 100x the pull than Southampton (probably will ever have). Yeah you've had us over for a bit of cash last summer - in the grand scheme of things.....so what? Bit of a shame as I personally think Southampton are a fine club and have a fine model that other clubs should take note of. Plus I've seen them play a lot of times as I'm in Weymouth. The fans I meet in Southampton are a great laugh, it seems the internet attracts complete tools like saintsfan08 et al. Good luck for next season Saints. With you guys and Bournemouth now in the PL, it makes my life a little easier!
Skylarker I'm afraid you have chosen to ignore the facts. In what world is 2 points a 'meteoric' difference ? This season has confirmed what many had suspected, Liverpool are a club of the past and Southampton are very much a force of the present. Southampton led Liverpool for large parts of the season and played better football throughout. All Liverpool have offered this season is dross and the same old excuses (ie. the transitional phase the club has seemingly been in the last 20 odd years ). The mantle has been passed.
The human being's capacity for getting uppity known no bounds If this is what one or two half decent seasons do to you, I can only imagine the psychological damage a title win would do "Southampton a force"? More like a source, of young players for the better clubs
The land for Southampton is coming. It's just a matter of which players let them down as they are really are light bin certain areas.
So did Everton. You have to learn from them and enjoy it at the time. Once you're back in your proper place below us all your bleating about how you were above us for a short time means **** all and TBF makes you look like a very small club.
Good luck for next season Saints. With you guys and Bournemouth now in the PL, it makes my life a little easier![/QUOTE]
If I was Sterling (for example) I'd jump at the chance to play for Man City rather than staying at Liverpool. Yeah there were loads of points in it and man city has 100x the pull than Liverpool
Apparently not if you're intelligent enough to make your own decisions like Milner rather than leave it to your agent.
Who is happier at the moment, Saints fans or Scousers?...It has to be us because every year that goes by that Liverpool fail to win the Premier League hurts them as they still think that it is their god given right to win it. There is no doubt that we are the more progressive and well run club at this moment in time and every Saints fan is on cloud nine with the way things are going since the Liebherr takeover. The roots of our club are so firmly entrenched that we can still improve despite selling players and there is a constant flow of young talent to step up and even if we do sell them for a massive profit our scouting system has a good record of finding replacements.
Look on the bright side lads, earth's in a new extinction phase now so very soon, due to rising sea levels, Southampton will be completely submerged by the Atlantic ocean / North sea and all these dumbfucks will be quietly expiring on lilos
The number of your fans who feel the need to come to our board proves which is the bigger club and which fans are happier Last season you had a glimpse of what it might be like to be a big club Now you're just desperately praying you won't collapse like so many other promoted teams have If you start next season like you ended last season you'll be relegated. Simple.
Nobody is saying that Liverpool isn't a bigger club, but like most big clubs, you are not satified unless you are winning trophies...I'd hate to be like that, when a 6th place finish is considered a failure. No desperate praying here on the sunny south coast, we are the most progressive and fastest growing club in the country...
I dunno about happier, because you guys seem so insecure. The satisfaction of a successful season mustn't be enough and you have to come over to our board and need our acknowledgement over how awesome and impressive you supposedly are.
Are you talking about our current status in the league or size of the club? If you're talking about the league I would sadly have to agree, if you're talking about actual club size, worth, value etc you're talking out of your rectum.
