Southampton have risen quickly but their squad is now very expensive and they're precisely where they should be, no more no less

Think Soton have to be careful this season, Potentially losing two of their best players and now have EL to contend with. The replacements will have to hit the ground running and stay consistent for most of the season. We've already seen the strain EL puts onto first timers with smaller squads, Everton after pushing for top4 were tipped to challenge for top4 again but have fallen foul of it and now have to start again.

You could also say, what happens when one or more of their bargains isn't as good as and doesn't develop as well as the players they sell. Its back to square one.

I dunno, West Ham, Everton and Newcastle should all be looking to finish ahead of Saints given their squads and resources.

So all they have to do is start paying more money for the players they buy and they should make top four?

Yeah, the EL can be a curse if the squad is thin and could hold them back.
I don`t think it`s a case of them buying bargains, it`s more a case of buying players who fit the team which helps them to play at their best, therefore looking like bargains.

Of those only Everton should be above Southampton in terms of squad cost, and their **** up was entirely their own not Southampton's success

No league title in a generation smiler.

    Big clubs win titles love

However you can console yourself with the fact that they've lifted the coveted crown of the club who've spent the most money in the entire World without winning their domestic league.

At one stage yes but the two points that separates us would suggest that we are in fact on the same level. Many have gone as far as to suggest that Liverpool's final day horror show has signaled the end of an era where Liverpool could claim any sort of ascendancy over the Saints. It was a glorious sight to see Southampton finally hold their own on a level that consisted of one of the world's footballing superpowers.

Do you even follow Southampton? We did the double on you. Humiliated you home and away.

Your only player to score against us was Clyne and he's on his way up.
