I went to East Germany and in particular, East Berlin in the eights, Was a crap place"
That's a treat in itself though, you're lucky to have experienced it. I went in 1990 only a few months after the wall & fences were taken down, we were given a tour by a German family. There really were Trabants by the side of the road, we saw the Stasi family beach facilities, the loudspeakers on the beach at Stralsund and grinned as the East Germans grappled with capitalism on an ice cream stand - they were so slow selling things!

Hang your head in shame if you thought it was appropriate to commemorate the centenary of the end of the slaughter and carnage of the First World War by light applause.
Totally agreed . On these occasions it should always be silent respect .

I think it just confused people the way it's carried out, with the last post and then the refs whistle which sounds like the end of things, when actually it's the beginning of the silence. It seems to happen every year.
Yes it happens every year so people should know by now .

Just watched the highlights. Hadn't realised how good Groswicki actually played yesterday. Shame about his decision making and his left foot. A bit like Sterling in the World Cup, was scaring defenders to death, stretches their defence but decision making/ finishing is woeful.

Really enjoyed that game, we were fast on the attack for most of the games, Grosicki was frustrating having a good sprint to just in front of goal and then panicking and the ball being lost but he did put a few good crosses in. Defence were solid. Last 10 minutes everyone was a bit nervy longing for the final whistle. Onwards and upwards hopefully.

I'm sure there were some lo-lights other than highlights, but its hard not to think that we aren't a team thats improving and with a great camaradery within the players. Onward and upward. UTT...

What annoyed me and it does every year is the catering staff in the concourse clattering pans and equipment during the 1 minute silence. Surely they aren’t so busy that they can’t at least observe the 1 minutes silence as well?

They have the choice but their pay gets docked if they participate. FACT.

Normally there is a lot of noise with people on the concourse still arriving, oblivious to what's going on. I thought that was much better yesterday. Probably a reflection on the low crowds.
