I think most fans would give a bollock to put on their club or country’s shirt, even for one game, not even for the money but for the pride. But that’s an idealised fan’s perspective. Unless a pro is a fan of the club they play for, it’s natural for many to just see it as a job that pays the bills. Ben White who plays for Arsenal said he’s never even watched a football game live or even on TV as a fan.

That’s why this core we’re forming cannot be entirely replaced in summer. Allahyar has really bought into it as has Slater. But KLP, Fleming and Greaves leave it all out there every game.

Used to cook as a hobby. Became a chef and couldn't face cooking anymore. Stopped cheffing and enjoyed cooking again.

You'd expect it would be the same for some pro footballers.

I've got no real issue with players not playing having a drink, but Wilks desire and commitment when he has played has been a shadow of what it was last season. Think he scored more in the relegation year at this level despite less game time than this season.

It isn't the first time his attitude has been questioned either. Maybe his head was turned last summer, maybe he's in the bracket you talk about but he's definitely not met expectations this term.

I think Wilks has always had a notably worse mindset than most players. He obviously would much rather score than someone else on the team score, that was the same last season even when he was playing regularly and scoring. His selfishness sometimes comes off but it's something you always have to tolerate. McCann clearly thinks he's worth it but Shota seems not to.

Mate of mine is a chef. Hardly ever cooks a meal at home. He lives off Pot Noodles, takeaways and microwave meals. After spending 10 hours in a kitchen, the last thing he wants to do when he comes home is cook a meal for himself. He said a lot of chefs in the industry live off junk (and cocaine too, but that’s another story).

There’s that old saying ‘find something you like doing as a job and you’ll never work a day in your life again’. I think it’s the opposite and if you make your hobby into a job, it’s no longer a hobby.

Thats why I quit my job as a porn star!

Just watched the highlights from Saturday. Loving Allahyar's pace and work rate but a word for Eaves too. Feel he has made a lot of contributions since Magennis left and he's been given more game time, and if Kane had laid one on for Son as he laid that goal on for KLP the TV pundits would have been raving about it.
Personally really hope we extend his contract as definitely brings something different and i think the current coaching set up is making him a better player.
But we are raving about it.
