I think we're too harsh sometimes. The game was a battle today because Millwall made it one. Adkins knew they would do and set us up to stand up to them, and we did. We can't expect to play beautiful football every week but we opened them up enough to score twice and we stood up to them and limited their chances. They had the beating of us in the air which caused some problems but again, all we can do is fight our way out of it and we did.

Marshall made two hellish saves and one cleared off the line.

Ok we had some chances as well but those 2-3 of there’s where fairly clear cut.

Marshall made one save all game didn't he? And it was a scramble rather than a clear cut chance. Grosicki hit the post too. We just did what we had to do though. Of course we dropped off to defend the lead at the end because that's what happens.

Yep. Ridgewell was rushed on as soon as that big black kid came on.
Glad he didn't play from the start. A monster

A much needed 3 points, wasn't pretty by the sound of it, but 3 points at this stage all that matters. Nice to hear Pugh got a start, and Burke & Wijs seemed to have shored up the defence. Good to have a player like Lichaj, sounds dependable and can play any position along the back line.

Let's hope Stewart or Batty is back for the weekend, as Stewart, in particular, is a big miss now.

    P.S. Added bonus TWS lost.

The referee was very poor. Stop/Start and whistle happy, but I felt he missed a lot of fouls made by Millwall players shoves, loose elbows for headers.

Bringing Ridgewell on seemed to have an adverse affect. I’m sure the intention was to strengthen the defence, when all it seemed to do was confuse De Wijs/Burke and cast uncertainty on the rest of the defence.

    Exactly this
He did ok (his pointing was right up there with Junior Lewis!) but it confused everyone and consequently Burke and De Wijs got into awkward positions that they hadn’t previously
I would have brought him on for Irvine and sit him in front of the back 4

EDIT - or did he come on for Pugh? In which case I’d have pushed Irvine further up and still sat Ridgewell deep in midfield to protect the back four or drop into gaps as needed

Morison is a very good player IMHO and getting the best of slight nudges before headers is part of that. Experience

Why should Marshall have been sent off? Must have missed that

Tackle he made in front of West stand on Henrkisen, if he’d have gone down and roller about a bit he may have got sent off. Was a nasty horrible challenge.

    Ah him
    Forgot he was called Marshall

I was wondering why you thought our keeper should have been sent off! <doh>

Ridgewell coming on was a planned tactical move by nige.
That didn't confuse our players, their aerial bombardment did. We needed another big lad in there.
We won against a big physical niggly set of ****s and still we moan.

At the start of our Christmas run we constantly had less possession, shots etc but came away with the points, that's all that matters and I'd take it every week.

Agree about Ridgewell although he did make a couple of good tackles, Pugh is a good addition.

Good, we've finally learned how to hang on to a 2-1 lead.

I don’t agree. You could see our players arguing amongst themselves when Ridgewell came on. Confusion central - and if we hadn’t had a very well placed Bowen on the line we’d have thrown away two points.

If he'd been on from the start I think half our team would have gone off injured again

10191 - does that figure include stewards, catering staff and mascots?
No where near that but poor game all round but 3 points and move on.
