OK first of all this was a recovery operation. It's so typical of the youf of today, in short ****ing stupid with more balls than brain cells. The credit should go to someone in the club I hope it was Selles who saw what was going on and worked out how to bring it to an end.
A lot of Players are generally dumb as dog ****
They have no concept of reality having been pampered through Academies from an early age and given everything they want by parents. They're unable to empathise with a fan that has spent a fair bit of cash to go to a game only to feel let down and then see them behave like a moron messaging players at other clubs on a public forum.

I like how Selles has dealt with this but unfortunately I fear its just the way we are heading and we have to get used to their selfish attitude. I know in another sport they get training for stuff like this and I would be surprised if Kamara hasn't had it either at Portsmouth or Norwich, which for me shows he doesn't give a toss.

Fair play to our manager and Abu and the club. Excellent way to deal with it and move on. Let’s hope he scores and does a celebration akin to Bullard.

There will be some bed wetters who have a good moan.
Glad to see most on here think it was a good move as I agree. Obviously loads of Pompey fans stirring it on Twitter and a few of ours happy to jump on board, but I just think Kamara would have been slated by some of our fan base over the combination of events on Wednesday evening, and now actually most will feel more sympathy for a young man who made a silly mistake. And we can move on from it more quickly.

Coaches are far worse by all accounts. Proper thick, massive egos, bitter old attention seeking wannabes.

I think it's a really interesting move. Selles obviously is unhappy with Kamara for the post and also the goal. Can't imagine he'd have allowed Abu to be grilled on both if that wasn't the case.

I think it's good management of the situation, to try to defuse things and get Kamara to understand the severity of it, but without sticking him on the naughty step for weeks and potentially further damaging a valuable long-term asset who has already dropped in value since we spent big money on him.

We need to see a response from Kamara on the pitch though. If he continues to look like the effort of playing football with any intensity is a nuisance to him then this is not going to go away. He says he's happier here than at Norwich, but he doesn't look it on the pitch. I can't really imagine seeing him sprinting about giving it all at this point, but he is going to have to show something like that if he wants to move on from this.

Yep still his fault

was puerta and Drameh both injured?
Drameh was poor but why take puerta off unless he was injured.

also if we’re going to hold on and just hoof the ball why the **** didn’t the manager bring Burns on the last fifteen!???
Vaughn did quite well but it achieved **** all we weren’t going to score a goal

we definitely needed another centre back to bolster the defence
Point dropped
Just watched Valencia v Real Madrid
Madrid down to ten men one nil down
Bellingham assist for the equaliser for modric
Bellingham scores the winner
Ancelotti subs Bellingham straight away and brings a defender on to hold onto the win
Game management right there

Just watched it as well. Was half expecting Corberan to get a draw, but Valencia, despite playing well, ended up doing some very relegation fodder things and lost, not least for the winning goal. Sounds familiar

So he kept his attackers on in order to get the winner. Same thing Selles was doing isn't it, only we didn't have Bellingham...

I wouldn't have thought parking the bus/going conservative after going ahead when a man down is particularly revolutionary game management either.

This version of the interview comes across much better. Seems Abu’s agent got involved

Having listened to this and the other full-length one with Mike White, I'm a bit less clear on what the club and Abu's position is. At no point did anyone on either side of either interview mention the fact that it was a rival club's victory he sent a supportive message about, or that it could be construed as him wishing he was still there. I'd have liked to hear him address that. At one point I thought Mike White was going to ask about Kamara's apparent languid style which makes people question his application, but he didn't and I think that was sort of a shame because I'd have liked to hear Abu's position on that. I think he comes across as someone who's been told he's done wrong and knows he needs to apologise, but I'm not sure he really understands exactly why or how.

In the tigers plus/1904 interviews Baz put those questions and they were answered.

I don't think tonight was Humberside sports finest moment.

The club tried to informalise it, but Mike was caught off guard and went with his journalistic instinct without putting his empathy chip in.

Watch the 1904 thing, or listen to the whole interview on BBC sounds.

The kid got called by his agent telling him he ****ed up. They're working to fix it,

Manager will stand by him.

But he didn't do too much wrong, except being a naive 21 year old.

I thought Baz's interview in full got Abu's guard down and represented him much more empathically than the clipped up Humberside thing.

And it's a bit of a shame really.

Mike hasn't covered himself in glory on this one.
