That's what I thought and is what the press has focused on, but after I read brownbagtiger's post I checked and it isn't what the legislation says. The land requisition is for "any activity that forms part of, or is incidental to, functions required to be carried out by or on behalf of a border department in connection with vehicles (in particular goods vehicles) and goods entering or exiting, or that are about to enter or exit, Great Britain" I agree that congestion is more likely to be outbound than inbound and so this may be a just in case provision, but it's definitely there.
For there first time in a while, I was in the City centre today..... Jees it was desolate. Having said that, so was Leeds yesterday and further south earlier in the week... tough times for everyone...
If there is an award for worst names for bridges that will be a contender. Though of course the HDM will soon be calling it the iconic Murdoch's Connection.

Are the council planning to keep the crossing and traffic lights next to Ask? I still find it crazy that it will be quicker to cross via the crossing than it will be to go over the bridge!?!
