It's been done on a few roads. Holwell Road and the road near Asda kingswood toward the school has loads.

It's a cracking idea, looks good, saves money on maintenance and has flood benefits too.

Ah Ok , not somewhere I would usually pass so didn't recognise the photo . Also been somewhat ignorant of nature
I thought wildflowers just grew wherever they grew and weren't actually planted in a particular spot .

The idea is spreading, they've planted Hop Pole roundabout in Willerby with them this year.

There was a discussion on the radio a couple of weeks ago about traffic pollution and some bloke remarked it was strange how so many wildflowers next to where all these polluting vehicles were passing all day.

I take it this 'bloke' wasn't particularly intelligent.

Same here. Earl De Grey was a pub you had to go in, just once, as a sort of rite of passage.

I used to go in lunch hour when I was in my final year at Trinity House ('69) - Pete the barmaid knew we were underage but was happy to serve us a swift half as long as we kept out of the way in the back room. I drank in there many times over the years, one or two hairy moments, as in any Town centre pub, it was mostly ok though ..... it was certainly a character forming pub!

The Ghent Tram is excellent :emoticon-0148-yes:

Ghent is a great place. Almost identical in size to Hull, 260,000 with urban population of about 550,000.
But more pleasant in the centre (like everywhere else there are ropey areas) with more restaurants and outdoor eating in pleasant squares than we get in this country in cities of that size and even larger.Similar climate so weather isn’t the reason. Shame Hull doesn’t have a river running throughout like Ghent they could make a focal point for bars, cafes and river trips like they have.

In the days before stag dos became weekend getaways, they usually ended in the Earl de Grey.
