Looking at the fixture list we are simply hanging Sparky out to dry whilst we look for the next manager to take over as the opposition starts to get better.
With the new manager waiting in the wings we can hopefully sell off some of the dross in the squad to raise funds to buy at least one decent CB
Also I would suggest the appointment of the DoF will have some effect on hiring of the new manager too

Saints obviously don't want to bring in another sticking plaster manager this early in the season....ok to do that at the end of the season when desperate, but I would hope they are looking at replacing Les and spending time to get the right manager. Although I am not very hopeful at the moment, I am aware that there is still some time before our fate is sealed. This will probably be another season where a low score keeps you up. Not the time for panic, but the time to get it right.
I read a comment, by Stan Collymore, about Hughes, which I cannot find to link, but he actually made sense.
Hughes doesn’t actually have a trade mark style, with regards to how his teams play. I suppose, in the past, he got away with disrupting other team’s attacking play, by committing fouls all over the pitch, but in today’s game, where yellow cards can be issued for ridiculously soft fouls he can’t get away with that anymore.
His teams don’t press high, like a Pochettino type team, nor do they defend deeply or with organisation, a la Pulis or Allardyce.

Absolutely not the answer. As much I’m a fan of his, not sure how his coaching programme is helping us st the moment, to be frank. Not a popular view perhaps. Right now stick with the situation with Sparky, get some sense drilled into one or two defenders and you know things might just work out. Pretty impressed with Armstrong’s goals and contribution, that’s a plus along with a few others.
Kelvin is probably mulling over the bumper new 5year contract as we speak lol
I honestly don’t know enough about his current ‘status’ in the club to say yay or nay. What I do know is that we should somehow wait until the end of the season when better managers will be available. So either stick with Hughes or get a caretaker in. Kelvin may fulfil that role. As things stand, relegation is not something we should avoid ‘at all costs’ since it would give a welcome opportunity to rebuild around a talented youth set up.
Kelvin seems very active around the touch line on match days so I’m assuming he does have something about him.
SKD would be a bigger gamble than Stuart Gray and Steve Wigley were IMO.
