How long should Ron get to turn things around?

Agreed but I think the support has been superb. Yes OK the questions are being asked here and whilst I personally think it is premature, its the right place to ask the questions. In the stadium we get behind the team pretty well.

I have no doubt the manager can stand up. There are one or two players who just need to show it IMO.

I'm not so sure about that Mowgli. There were boos at halftime yesterday and similar against Villa. The noise was good second half, however I think in other recent games the fans could be better. Not saying they're bad, just could be better.

I never understand why people boo. I know they have every right because they are not happy with what they see but I don't see how it helps. The players need to get their confidence back and booing will only damage that even more. It might make the fan feel better but it just adds to the pressure on the players. I think you should always get behind the team no matter what and then moan after.

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Only joking:emoticon-0100-smile

Booing? I've never done that [mind you I haven't been to a home game for a while - money and all that] but I do understand why some people might.

If you get extremely frustrated and you're passionate and angry and you can't express that - what can you do? You can't thump the person next to you or take it out on your loved ones and you want the players, the management to know you're not happy - I mean really not happy. How do you express it - boo I guess?

This is a personality type though isn't it. Other people come on here and vent angrily, other people go a bit quiet and grumpy, others just want to be on their own for a bit to get over it. Some just brush it aside and look forward to the next game almost as soon as they leave the stadium. We're all different.

Mind you my personal opinion is if you're a professional footballer and you let booing get to you perhaps you're in the wrong profession? After all I would have thought to get to this level you have to be determined, single-minded and frankly have a ego larger than Texas and surely you don't really give a toss about all those people who say/said you aren't good enough as you came up through the ranks.

I'm With you all the way here. I get very frustrated at the games when it doesn't go well for Saints, but isn't that what the bloke in the yellow, green or black shirt is for - I just scream at him and let him know it's his fault :)

*sorry Tom*

1. Read my post above - take it out on the referee :)

2. I think your last paragraph is a sweeping generalisation. Not all footballers are like that. I'd give you Steven Davis as prime example. I'd imagine he would be mortified if booed.

I don't boo players or the manager. I never have booed a Saints player or booed at a Saints match, that would be a waste of time and just makes things worse imo. I don't boo opposition players either. I just find that a waste of breath personally as it might potentially make them more focused and more determined to do well.

I do understand some wanting to boo ex-players for example. But I can't be bothered personally. I'm more focused on the game itself.

I don't like booing and as FLT said it was evident at the villa and spurs game at half time.

Having said that football is a very passionate game and both those teams scored just before half-time and I think some frustration was vented. Oddly enough I prefer that to the thousands of supporters that leave their seats 10mins before half-time or 10mins before the end of the game.

From what I could see, the booing of Lovren and Lallana at the Liverpool game was definitely counterproductive for the Saints cause, as they both ended up playing very well. Not to mention giving the Liverpool fans a good retaliatory song in the form of "Adam Lallana, he's winning 4-1! (5-1, and 6-1)".

By the way, I know you're ignoring FLT, but you and he agree on this subject at least!

The general impression I get from reading the thread is that we are all correct to be concerned at the slump in form, but sacking Ronko would be a pointless exercise as it stands currently.

If you look at the total mess at Old Trafford, those fans have good reason to be baying for blood, but I suspect there are a lot of truths in what a lot of people have said.

Ronko hasn't become a bad manager, maybe he is still finding his feet in English football as well as the fact we punched above our weight last season. We had nothing to lose and just went for it, but now we are old news and no one is afraid to take us on.

Some of his decisions are a bit odd/frustrating but he'll have his reasons and be advised by good people. It's a worrying slump, but we've got to reinvent ourselves quickly.

Let's aim for the summer and see where we get. I actually think Ron is the sort of bloke that would fall on his sword and walk if he thought what he was doing wasn't good enough.

Two things about support yesterday:

One, it sounded terrific in the Northam - I feel the noise is sometimes better (certainly more constant) than when we were winning regularly. Not that I was contributing a great deal, for various reasons previously discussed.

Secondly, the most likely starting point for me to get into a fight at a football match will be when someone near me boos. I can't help myself, I launch into a tirade every single time. Up to now they have shut up and looked embarrassed but one day one of them is going to take me on and find out that I fight about as well as Pippi Longstocking with both hands tied behind her back. And a leg.

Reading most posts here, I can see the majority are supportive of Ronald Koeman but quite rightly his tactics are being questioned. If the slump continues and results in the worst case scenario, I would still leave the decision until the end of the season and then set about recruiting Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank as I think RK would choose to make a dignified exit.

I was amazed by the few who bit yesterday with the Spurs banter from their fans......at least 3 thrown out.......
Ignore and watch the game FFS.

JFH has only just joined QPR.

Okay, we can close this discussion off now.

Just got a message from Le Tiss who says "we had a similar spell last season, and it turned out okay in the end".

The Lord hath spoken.
