Oh silly me I'm sure we have bags of money to spend on players in January I'm just being negative because I'm sad the team are so pathetic .

What a stupid comment from you.

If the club goes that way, I'll lose interest in City until he's gone.

This is what I was referring to Dunc:

"The club generated a modest profit of £3.6m from player sales in the year, however during the summer 2023 transfer window and post-year end, the club generated significant profits on player sales. This included notable transfers of academy products Max Aarons and Andrew Omobamidele to AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest respectively, as well as Milot Rashica to Besiktas."

I think that means the profit from the sale of those 4 players will be in this year's budget, not last year's. It should be enough to cover the £27m debt from last year, but there won't be much more for new players this financial year.

I know, my point being due to being in the Championship our finances are very tight the deals for Aarons & Omobamidele will be staggered we won't receive all the money at once & that will be used to plug the gaps elsewhere.

Unless the American injects some cash from his own pocket the new manager won't have a big lump to bring in new players.

Not sure what feelings are being put before facts on my part.

Not even sure there's much room in the loan market, my biggest concern would be losing Sara or Rowe in January.

I think we basically agree Dunc and your point about the staggered payments is a good one, though those can be listed as future assets I suppose. Whatever the case, as you say, we have little room for recruitment in January.

The financial position is a worry especially bearing in mind that the parachute payments end next season. My rough ' back of a *** packet ' calculations indicate that we will need to trim another 30% off the wage bill and make another profit of at least £20m on transfers which means increased reliance on he academy. It seems to be not a question as to whether the likes of Sara and Rowe will be sold but more when they will be sold. The American might put in money to protect the financial viability of the Club but won't fund any new players and, like our friends down the road, will put in a new financial team to keep close control of finances and increase revenue from other projects. We have got to stand the financial hit of getting rid of Wagner but then cannot afford another mistake with the replacement. On face value our squad is good enough to comfortably survive in the Championship but it needs someone to come in and give them a good kick up the proverbial and make sure they know what he expects each player to do.

In the Championship, under DF, we had arguably the fittest squad in the league. When we got promoted, we discovered we were out-muscled and out-lasted by virtually every other team. Now back in the Championship, we are patently neither the physically strongest or fittest in the league, yet high energy and high intensity are essential to the football DW wants us to play!
IMO there is no lack of understanding on the players' part, they played as DW intended, to good effect, at the start of the season. But they don't now seem capable of maintaining the necessary energy and intensity for the duration of a match. Added to which, in Ben Lee's words, concluding his analysis of the Blackburn game: "It is true that players are making mistakes, but those mistakes are symptoms of fundamental tactical flaws. While some mistakes cannot be mitigated, tactics should provide a structure within which players can excel. David Wagner’s recent tactical setups have failed to meet that [criterion], and the players’ profiles fail to meet his."

Not sure what triggered you Dunc but I never mentioned your name. My comment came after having read a lot of comments on X about the published accounts.
Nothing stupid about my comment thank you

But there was no link to any such Twitter posts you just inserted yourself into a conversation between Rick & myself where he rightly said the sale of Aarons & Omobamidele will not count as they were after July .
I don't use Twitter I hot the financial details from an article from Newsnow
Still wondering who's feelings were in the way of what facts .

    Very odd

I thought on a forum I could comment on one post without it relating to anyone's replies. Apologies if I upset you Dunc.

There was far too many comments on X to copy them all in. In relation to "feelings" would you like me to change the wording to "popular social media opinion".

You quoted a post from Rick replying to me with an odd statement about not letting facts get in the way of feelings.

This to most people would mean that the comment was aimed at me not some random twitter accounts.

You in know way offended me , it's you fixated with feelings & people being upset , turns out those people are from Twitter & not the conversation you interjected yourself into .

Rick & myself weren't even disagreeing which made the comments even more peculiar.

For future reference if you type "don't let facts get in the way of feelings " whilst quoting someone, 10 times out of 10 they won't presume you are referring to someone on a random twitter thread that nobody brought up .

<laugh><laugh><laugh> ok mate whatever you say, I think you seem to be blowing it out of proportion. I will wait until your private conversation on a public forum is over before saying something next time.

I'm sorry for any offence caused and for butting into your conversation

Don't let facts get in the way of feelings.

That's referring to a Facebook post I just read , not this conversation but you probably guessed that.

    Fact!

Can we bury this now? I’m sure it’s no fun for anyone else to read. I apologised if you thought I was directing my comment at you, I’m not doing it again.
