Our owner should be fiscally irresponsible by gambling their personal wealth or the future of the club for short term gains. To show how committed to this idea I am, I'm prepared to gamble none of my own wealth and will instead see what other revenue streams I can generate first...
I'll give him until 12 games and then look at it. We started slowly in 2018-19 and then came on strong. We need that again.
Slightly more patient than me I'm giving him 10. We won't count Luton in the cup. Brentford should be tough but the others should be wins on paper.
Trouble is DD we don't play on paper. As much as I enjoyed our Promotion season I do feel that DF has lost his way, maybe he wants to keep the departing players, but has no say in it.Our whole performances since lockdown have been the worst in the major leagues by a mile. Something is seriously wrong, and we need to sort it asap.
We haven't got the results wanted in the last 4 games, the Premier league abysmal run is still a factor but we can only judge Farke and the current team at this level 1 win and and 1 draw from 4 is not very good. I'm expecting us to beat Rotherham, Bristol City, Birmingham and Wycombe, Brentford on paper looks to be the hardest fixture. When we get to Bristol City on Halloween and the transfer window is closed if we aren't in the chasing pack then alarm bells may start going off. I seem to remember going into the Ipswich game away 2 seasons ago with many fans on Farke's back wanting him booted . We drew the game with a wonderful goal from Leitner , Aarons made his first start and Godfrey replaced Klose at half time. The rest is history
I'd only add that results don't always equate to levels of performance. I'd left last season behind and as Gibson said, we dominated Derby throughout the game. Had Pukki not slipped taking the penalty I think we'd have gone on to win as Derby would be forced to try to attack more. Instead we lost to a smash and grab as we tried to equalise. I'm not dissatisfied with the performances so far and think we'll push on from here.
Be careful what you wish for. We might follow Salford and sack DF and replace him with Delia. I agree with Rick - last year we never had a chance not least because the squad was way out of its depth. This season all Clubs are terrified about their financial position and we have had to sell players to balance the books. Replacements are having to bed in, there are 3 players he doesn't want and may have to be given squad places and we do not know if a couple more players will be sold before the window closes. To be honest I would give him to the end of the season at the very least.
I believe 25 games is a good barometer of how well a head coach is doing, we are currently on a run of 1 win in about 17 games if we don't pick up a few victories in the next 8 games then questions should be asked.
Villa spent £100m and nearly went down. Bournemouth and Watford had far better squads than ours and still went down. We knew from the start of the season that it would take a miracle for us to survive and it was obvious to most of us that going into lockdown relegation was inevitable. During lockdown the overall opinion was that ' Norwich are obviously going down but who will join them' The players would have heard this, looked at the league table and realised their fate. I am quite certain that if DF had gone during lockdown no new Manager, including the so called miracle workers such as Allerdyce, could have kept us up with that squad, We have got to forget last season in the same way that the people who want DF out have forgotten the season before that despite the fact that our unexpected promotion has saved us from financial disaster. Looking at the results so far we have narrowly lost away to the favorites for promotion despite being the better side, lost to Derby because of a penalty taking slip where again we were the far better side, drew with a hard to beat established Championship side and won the fourth game. Hardly evidence to support sacking the Head Coach and his staff with all the cost that entails. I seriously expect a change in tactics from now on with the attacking option being based around Hugill rather than Pukki although a lot will depend on crosses from Hernandez and Aarons and Buendia still being here when the transfer window closes.
Wycombe should be 3 points (sadly this seasons dead-cert for relegation it seems - I am genuinely sad about that), but I am less confident about beating Brum
We would expect to beat both Birmingham and Wycombe at home, although having stated that, we lost to Derby and drew with PNE at home. The away games at Bristol City and Brentford could prove very difficult. If we win the two home matches and get draws in the away matches then Farke will probably survive. Mid table by new year and the top brass may decide enough is enough or he walks. I haven’t seen anything this season so far that suggests that we will be in at least the play-offs by the end of the season.
