That ol'chestnut being played again. In the cold light of day there's no difference. They're offensive and have no place in football. The consequences clearly werent fully thought out right by the clypes.

Some people started something. To see it out they would have to make a sacrifice to see their rivals punished. now that its their turn to hold the moral high ground they can't hack it. Hypocrites!

Of course there is a difference. You can't compartmentalise this into "us and them". You have to deal with the facts of the matter and deal with that accordingly. Out of interest, which of these songs do you think can be construed as offensive?

I may have to accept that the songs may fall foul of UEFA regulations(as shown below) but whilst not looking to indulge in whataboutery, it will be interesting to see UEFA close every single ground under their jurisdiction.

2 The same disciplinary measures may be taken against member associations or
clubs in case of inappropriate behaviour on the part of their supporters,
including:
a) the invasion or attempted invasion of the field of play;
b) the throwing of objects;
c) the lighting of fireworks or any other objects;
d) the use of laser pointers or similar electronic devices;
e) the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any
message that is not fit for a sports event, in particular if it is of a political,
offensive or provocative nature;
f) acts of damage;
g) any other lack of order or discipline observed inside or around the stadium.

The majority of Celtic fans are Scottish.

Any links they have with Ireland are tenious at best. In my opinion, the majority of these people feel that songs about the IRA are no longer required and, I'd hope, would find them uncessary (I was maybe a little strong in saying all would find them offensive but a fair section of people do find them offensive and/or distasteful).

IMO: There is no connection between Celtic FC and the IRA. Stop singing them at the football and stop Celtic getting punished.

If you want to continue and be bloody minded about it, then so be it but Celtic may be punished. Forget about the other clubs - lets concentrate on "ours" a make sure they escape punishments.

If it happens: You think continous fines will do Celtic any good?

The majority of Celtic fans may be Scottish

The links with Ireland are, in your opinion tenuous, however you have to accept that a huge part of the draw to our club to many of our support stems from placing a great deal of stock in those links.

There is no connection between Celtic and the IRA, but there is a long standing relationship between the support and Irish Republicanism, leading back to the formation of the club where these ideals were held by the board of the club.

Celtic have note been punished. However, I welcome clarification on this from UEFA. Should we get punished, then of course, I will have to consider revising my position. There is nothing at all bloody minded about it.
